Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

So often when we here Traditional Pattern knife we think folding slip joints.  Over time, however several traditional pattern fixed blades have become fairly consistent.   I think one of the most collected among these is the Bird & Trout Knife. Lets see some Fish & Fowl Fixed Blades.  I'll start with my Boker 155 as this one is my favorite.  This little Boker was found so versatile that it became part of the Emergency bail-out gear of the Strategic Air Command.  Why because Curtis LeMay was lookng for a light weight versatile knife  and not something Rambo would use to take on the entire Soviet Army!

Below are pictures of my Boker USA 155 knives.  The top one is the Civilian version and  the bottom is the E-1 Survival Knife used by the USAF  Main differences between the two is the  E-1 has a lanyard hole and hard leather fitted tube sheath.

But at the end of the day, both are simply classic Fish and Fowlers!

They certainly are Tobias and and often heard pattern! Would love to see more!

My most recent.  The bird and trout is favorite fixed for me.  Most skinners are fairly large and I have small hands so the fit is better and the knives are generally a lighter weight

That's a good one, Jan.  Who makes it?

This one is a Queen Tobias.  I dug it out of a box at thier table this past weekend LOL

R Murphy makes a nice little B&T, often called a Canadian Belt Knife.

The full tang knife features a  four inch 1095 carbon steel blade   Made in USA.

This one is olive wood with brass pins and lanyard hole.  Comes with a tube style sheath.

Pretty much a classic design at an affordable price, especially for a USA made B&T!

good looking b&t tobias.  knice scales and like this blade shape.

your recent queen b&t is a beauty jan.

The more I see this blade style the more I like it

Jan, it would appear the original designer was that other Russell fella (Not A.G.  but  D.H.)  of Grohmann Knives. See  a href="http://www.grohmannknives.com/" target="_blank">http://www.grohmannknives.com/>

Just so happens I have one of those, (a fowler's knife I mean), though when translated mine would be called a "Pigeon" knife. Spanish-made by Joker, the "Torcaz", (ie; Pigeon). Uber comfortable in the hand, very usable.

Joker makes some fine knives!  That sheath is nothing to sneeze at either!  Very nice Syd!

Thanks Tobias, it's my current favorite. I have a strap which allows me to wear that sheath in a horizontal, cross draw fashion, (the buckle is part of that), and it lays flat against my hip very nicely, puts the handle in a perfect position to reach with my right hand, and is very comfortable to carry. Problem is it is so darn pretty I'm kinda afraid to carry it, (but I'll get over that). I wanted a stag-type handled knife, (not sure if I should call it stag or antler) and I think I chose well in this case; I'm lovin' it. This one and my dad's 1926 Kinfolks K380 will be passed down to my grandson. I also have a similar-sized Pakastani fixed blade with camel bone handle, (probably the same factory as Chipaway, though doesn't have the tang stamp), but this Joker is by far my favorite to carry/use.
