What an awesome gift!!!! This is a very interesting pattern to me because of its unique design. Great ingenuity. (I'm assuming you are referring to the pattern number 551 that has the double locking blade, rather than an item number). Did it come with the sheath?

To answer your question, there are no details as to the production numbers of these older patterns. I can tell you that this pattern was manufactured between 1938 and 1949.
