Good Evening!I acquired an old axe head a few years ago and I never thought much about it.  I found it in an old barn and the owner gave it to me as junk.  I had sort of planned on cleaning it,…Continue

USN MK2

Good Evening!I just acquired a USN MK2 knife a couple of days ago.  The grip's leather discs were horribly dehydrated, and the guard was a bit bent; but for the most part, it was in pretty good shape.  It really needed some cleaning and just a touch of tweaking to get it back into good shape. Here are some photos of the result. I do hope you enjoy. (Thanks Lars for the encouragement to post these!)…See More

old Schrade - Walden, NY

Good Evening!I recently got an old Schrade 3 blade pocketknife that was very heavily corroded.  It was so bad, that I could not open it with a screwdriver or a pair of pliers. After about 2 weeks of soaking it in Kroil, I managed to open it.  I did quite a bit of cleaning it up, and it ended up being a rather nice little knife.I have tried to ID it with no success.  The best I can come up with so far is that it is older than 1946.Can anyone help me out in figuring out what this knife is?I am…See More

restoration of a bayonet?

Good evening everybody!I have a question that will probably have as many answers as there are opinions on it.I recently came into the stewardship of a 1888 Prussian bayonet.  Before actually taking possession, I thought it was a 1940ish bayonet, that really did not have much value.  There is no scabbard.Upon receipt, I learned that the original finish on the wooden handle grips had been stripped, but all of the metal seemed to be reasonably intact.  Especially considering its age.My question is…See More

Hey man...thanks for the friend request...of course I accepted! As for sending private messages, this is just fine - but if you truely want to send a private message - use the iKC email - upper right hand corner of your page in the area of your name, sign out, Fried requests, etc...

I wanted to start a formal stand-alone CFK group, but I could not accurately gauge  if it would be accepted or not - so I started the it as a sub-group in the Box Full of Knives Box of Knives. I'm glad i did - as I commented to Lead Left Knife Guy , I seem to be the only one playing in that sand box at the moment, and I'm not sure my ego could manage no one join a group!  LoL!

Right now it looks like it's just my thread....but if you add a post to it, then it will be as it is intended - a place to appreciate the CFK/iPAC brand.
