The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I don't have any Hog jokes, or at least none I can tell on a family forum! LOL (just kidding!)
But Steve "Hog" Hanner is on of the nicest people in knife collecting....or anywhere else. I've gotten to know a lot of nice people in knife collecting in the 40 years I've been in the "knife world", and Steve is in the upper ranks!
When Steve and I were teenagers on the farm. We were both feeling randy. I talked Steve into having carnal knowledge with farm's hogs with me. While in the act, Steve told me that he just couldn't do it. His friend was not cooperating. He was not aroused. I looked around the pen and said, "No wonder Steve. You got the ugliest hog in the pen!" And this is how Steve got his name. Happy Birthday Hog.
Thanks for all you help and friendship, Hog. Your hard work and contributions to this site are greatly appreciated.
I would like to start off by saying that, I have a lot of respect for Steve Hanner. There aren't many small farmers left in this country who don't give up on it. I know that the life of a farmer is not an easy one. Secondly, I would like to say that, Steve has a been a true friend to me, since I have joined iKC. You would be hard pressed to find a more loyal guy. Thirdly I would like to tell you how much I admire Steve for his spiritual and family values. It is obvious how Steve feels about the importance of spending time with his family. Aside from being the farmer in the Dell, I think Hog has been a true asset to iKC and all who have been associated with him. I hope that I am able to meet him in person one day and thank him for all that he does. In the mean time I will do it right here.
Hog - Thank you for all that you stand for and do! I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
A sincere thank you, my goodness you guys are tremendous.
You are the tremendous one Steve!
Steve...Hmmm...
Never met the guy, never got his jokes...
I do not understand farming - grew up as a big city boy.
Do not know the true definition of "southern gentleman" - was not born in America.
With all that said - Steve is a man who always helps. With advice or navigation or postings.
Looks like "help" is his second nature. Or may-be the first?
One of those guys who you can always rely on.
Do not know him, never met him.
Would consider an honor to shake his hand.
Would consider a pleasure to share a drink with him
Thanks, Steve!
