Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

If anyone is interested, Canal Street Cutlery has launched a line of Tactical Knives. They have partnered with Dexter to assist with the Blade making (this keeps the cost down since Dexter has a better capability tomprodipuce the blades). The first two knives out of the shute are Survival Knives. Thee is a Clip Point and a spear point. I have samples of the Spear point and am awaiting the samples of the clip point. There are several options available for the knives. Partial serrated blade, non-serrated blade, Cerakoted blades available in predator green or black and the grips are VZ Grips. that's right....VZ Grips, the same manufacture that makes the grips for the 1911 is making them for the Canal Street Tactical Survival knives. The grips come in Hyena Brown and Predator Green. If you have never seen these grips, you have to get a look, they are Phenominal. Each knife comes in a black nylon sheath. Wally will have them at the Blade Show 2015 and I believe he may even have a handful for sale. Save your knuckles and stop by and see Wally at the Blade Show.

Wally is also going to have a folder version of a tactical knife, also done in the VZ Grips. It will be a prototype, but I can't wait to see it and get my hands on it. If is anything like the Survival Knife....who'll where!

Tom,

Thank you for the heads up!!!!!!!!!!!!  Can we see a pic?

This is great news, as I had heard this was in the works. I suspect these will be snapped up in no time and predict a wildly successful line for them!

Here is a flyer that they put together for the two Survival Knives.  I apologize, the blades are a Clip Point and a Drop Point.  I do not have anything that I can show on the folder.....you will have to get by the Canal Street Cutlery Booth at Blade Show 2015 to see them all first hand.  Best get there early though, they may sell out before you can see them...

Apparently the flyer was too large of a file to load, here are some fair pictures of the Clip Point, Serrated and Non-serrated.

I apologize, these pictures do not do the Knives any justice.  They just don't show the true color in them.  The knife is an extremely well balanced knife, not too heavy yet not too light either.  The VZ grips are, in my opinion, one of the best features of the knife.  They are truly a fantastic grip, both in a gloved hand, or not.  No slippage even when wet.  I think these are going to do well. If you are attending the Blade Show 2015, you must stop by the Canal Street Booth and meet Wally and get your hands on one of these beauties and you will see exactly what I am talking about.  He will also have the Drop Point and a Prototype Folder at Blade as well.

Tom

Both look very good Tom. Although its early have they come up with a price point for these once they go into production?

There it is with the specs and by the way, the price point is $200 for anyone interested in that.  The D2 and G-10 combo is a good one.  Looking for some feedback on handle we know a 4 inch length, what is width?

According to my Stanley PowerLock, the handle is 1 3/8" wide at the widest point.  This thing just fits perfectly in the hand!

It's unfortunate that you can't see the height of the ridges in the picture that give it that perfect gripping power. The list price is $200 which includes the Black Nylon Sheath and the option of Black Cerakoted,Green Cerakoted or non coated blade and the option of the Hyena Brown or Predator Green Handles, and then the option of Partial Serration or no Serration.  The Cerakote Coating is the same type coating that the Military has on their weapons.

Tom

OK that's good to know Tom. well not to trouble you with pictures but maybe a top view?  would show the jimping and the handle width better.

Sure looks like it will be a popular seller...wonder how many they do in the initial run?
