I headed out on a biz trip today and decided to leave my Strider PT home. Yes, I know I could have stuck it in luggage but the problem with that is...I didn't check any bags. I carried on. Just an over night trip, but my left pocket feels empty all the same.

As naked as a prisoner who's clothes has been taken away from him or her, hands tied or hand cuffed in front of them, sitting on a chair in a cold and dark concrete room waiting to be interrogated. (Taking away a prisoner's clothes is a very effective technique...not that I would know anything about that...lol!)

And I carry way more that you Scott...lol!
i always feel like i lost something and everytime i stand up i get freaked thinking i lost my knife until i remember i didn't have it on me
I gotta say it's almost a "lonely" feeling without an EDC,...I think the only occasions I don't carry, is where I can't....air travel, and jury duty!...lol.
"Hoping to God the flight is safe"...and the baggage handlers don't get them when they xray your bag....
I have to go "naked" 6 hours a day during the school year. Nothing with a sharp edge(even letter openers) allowed. ): I'm currently working out a knife-less solution using a swiss-tool plier thing and a keychain pry bar from county comm. Maybe throw in a keychain screwdriver and Fenix l2d as well.
I feel very naked. Like I'm not all together. Sometimes have to leave knives in the car when going to certain sporting or entertainment events. I hate metal detectors.
During the day I have a nervous habit of tapping my right pocket or resting my hand next to my knife. If I don't have one there that day, I have a minor freak out for a second every time I put my hand there. In my chem lab we can't have anything metal on us or the NMR rips it out of your pocket when you walk too close to the machine.
It's not funny.

Growing up in a rural farming area ... we all carried pocket knives ... all the time ... including church (well ... not the girls ... I knew ... in church, I mean). Shoot, for the longest time .. I could buy ink erasures, pocket knives, etc .. throw them in a messenger bag & board the flight. Aargh ... not anymore.

It's not funny !!
Recently attended a free legal class that was held in the courthouse. Metal detectors and security guards gone crazy. So had to leave my knives in the car. Stupid metal detector still goes off after taking off my glasses. Had to take my belt off too. In the class they only had a couple pencils. Pencil was used and needed sharpening. While using the pencil the lead broke off. No sharpener of any kind in the room or next rooms. No other pencil available. If I would have had my knife, I would have had a sharp pencil lead in seconds! So I felt really naked and useless right then.

Too bad all those anti-knife people wouldn't have a clue to how I felt, nor would they know that they could "fix" a problem like that in a few seconds if only they had the tool on them to do it. Oh well.
I agree w all you guys.Stripped of tools I use for multiple uses each day is dis heartening.
Always feel not completely dressed without one of my EDC's...even to the point of running back upstairs to put one of my knifes in pocket. Never used to be this way but it's a gone conclusion that's changed!
I hate it when I can't take my pocketknife with me on trips. I makes me feel like an incomplete kit.
