Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hi everyone and welcome to our newest members,

Something we have not talked about lately is new aquisitions.  Tell us about your latest and greatest GEC.  Donnie bought me both the new 23's in the Beavertail (Worlds greatest husband by the way)  He got himself the newest 73 in Primitive bone.  THAT is a heck of a nice knife.

What have you gotten lately?

The new club knife had a warm reception. The striped bass before and after, yum, yum! Just joking about the club knife it's a collector and won't be cleaning fish.

OOOWEEE!   That is one great reception your new knife got.  Please tell me you gave it a taste???

What type of Handles Johnny?

I'm pretty pumped, it's a Tidioute and it will be a real worker.

I can't wait, pics will be up ASAP.

Time to play the waiting game with the mail. : )

I am also thinking it would make a great Ladies knife.  Not to big and the bail could be used to clip it inside her pocket book.

Yes Mam, I've seen it and it's as good as a Sunfish could be. I think it would go good in the pocket of the day fisherman, cuting string and fixing sandwiches.

Now I'm getting hungry.

Jan, it has jigged stag Bone. : )

It really looks like a great set of scales. I'm hoping it will be here Monday, but the mail always moves faster in my head.

I just caught one fish and cooked it for my grand daughter. No, Miss Jan the Club knife had to just watch.

Well at least it was home for dinner

Well, so far I love everything about the Moose. It's a hefty knife that doesn't want to be messed with and it's ready to run you down. It's like a big ol' slug gun. I love the half stops that slam open and closed, the big blades seem to offer lots of use and they will be getting it.

The big clip is my favorite, which I expected from the get go. The Spear is going to be great for skinning and other such chores though, I already have a decent edge on the blades. The scales are nice and grippy and I think that they will be good for wet work, or for work under pressure.

But, I do have a couple problems.

The blades were a bit unfinished and are sharp at the spine, I will file these down to be more comfortable. Then, there is a pin crack on the one scale, not a problem right now, but it will get worse I fear. I will be sending it to GEC for a tune up, but not until a have had a proper chance to get it working.

Sorry Johnny you had bad luck with your moose knife. I'm sure they will fix up your problems but still just a bummer. A big moose is ready for big jobs and is your back up in the deep woods.

Johnny,

I would not mess with those beautiful scales.  Just put a touch of "zap a gap" on it.  It will seal it and you will have no issue from the hairline crack
