Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I wanted to update all of the members who are interested in the knives we are having made for us by GEC. Derek, Bill and I have been talking about this since our first knife was in the process of being made and have decided that we are going to do a Eureka Jack. We wanted to, again do an older pattern and if you look at the picture that I have included you will see 3 Eureka's. From the left, a custom knife made for me by Ken Erickson an OVB marked knife that was made by New York Knife Co and a Carrier Cutlery salesman's knife. The knife that GEC will be making will have some items from each of these. I have always loved this pattern and since it is an old one thought that it would fit in nicely with what we are doing.

Derek will be updating our website as you knives are being made and you can go to the GEC site to see the knives also. We are hoping to have the knives done by the end of Feb or the begining of March.

We will be doing something special with these also like the wiping cloths being added to the first knife so keep checking the 2 sites for more info.

Thanks Mike & Derek, JBF Champlin & Sons Cutlery

Thanks Jan I wish I could have made the show!! I have gone twice to it and always got some nice knives and met some great people. Yes the knives are progressing along and I am getting really excited! Derek and I have decided that we will be using boxes this time around and not the tubes that GEC usually uses. We think it is in keeping with an older knife.

Boxes, excellent.  For something with this many ties to the past that is very appropriate

Got an invoice on this today....the knives are nearing complettion and should be home with us soon!

Update on the Eureka's, the boxes that we are putting the knives in will be in my hands next Wed and so will the labels!! The certificates will be in by the end of next week and the knives should arrive right after that, I can't wait to get them and ship them out. Only have 6 stag knives left and one set just opened up for sale. It was a hold for someone that did not work out.

Thanks for all the support and business on these. Mike & Derek

Hey Thanks for the update Mike!  This waiting is killing me LOL

Update on the Eureka’s, the boxes that we are putting the knives in will be in my hands next Wed and so will the labels!! The certificates will be in by the end of next week.

Unfortunately the factory is now saying we won’t have the finished knives until mid March.  This is disappointing news since I can’t wait to get them in my hands and ship them out. (Only have 6 stag knives still available).

Thanks for all the support and business on these. Sorry about the delay, Mike & Derek

Check out the website to see the box label.

The box label is very nice!  As much as we want the knife in our hands Mike, we understand the manufacture want to be certain the knife is 100%.  We will wait (kind of patiently )lol

I just received the boxes and labels for the knives. In the picture below the top 2 boxes are old ones from my collection and the bottom one is a new one that the knives will be coming in when they come in!! I really like the way that they look. Tell me what you think, Only the certificates and knives need to get here!!!

 Mike & Derek.

I like that they are so close to the originals.  Keeping in the theme of the type and materials used for the knives

The GEC website has some new pics of the knives in process.  The cocobolo sure looks pretty after being cleaned up a little, and the stag is sharp also!
