I always liked Yellow handles. Not my number one favorite, but I like them, a lot. Don't know what it is. there is something about yellow handles. They just look good to me. I know a lot of other people like them and collect them.

I remember looong ago some guys were talking about yellow handles and they mentioned when they thought yellow handles were first produced. In the 1930's? I can't remember.

1. Do YOU like them. What do you think of them?

2. Does anyone have the information, or can remember when yellow handles first showed up on knives?

I gotta say, those I have pictured are really nice. I wonder if many people still actually use a yellow handled fishing knife nowadays? I haven't fished for years so I'm not a good judge.

This guy is yellow to the bone.....and that's a good thing!

My newest Old Yeller.............

Got a couple more Old Yellers!

(please excuse the streak of Ren Wax on the main blade tip!)

when were the yellow handles introfuced is a great question, I wonder if Sue knows

If she doesn't know, she will quickly educate us all after a little research. Right Sue?

I've seen and owned celluloid yellow handles going back to the 40's or so. Sooo, At least that far back. Maybe when celluloid was introduced? ALL kinds of colors came into being when celluloid came along.

I often wondered whether the yellow scales were primarily a high visibility idea or if they developed from various attempts to imitate old ivory and bone scales at a lower price point. Any way here are a few to add.

mmmmm....I think so...i have a few....I especially like the tested ones with yellow imitation pearl with the white liners under them...here is the one I posted recent...a desk knife with the letter opener.....

I love that Schrade Cut.! And I used to carry a Camillus Yellow Jacket Congress like that!

Gotta say there is something about a yeller handle in the hand, it sure is smooth and feels just right!
