Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I EDC a Case Mini Blackhorn.  It handles all my normal cutting chores just fine.  However it is just a plain black handled knife.  I have decided to buy a new Case knife to put in rotation with the Mini Blackhorn as a "Sunday go to meetin" knife.  The deed will be done when I am at SMKW in July.  I have some Case knives now that would be good for that purpose but they are special to me and I don't want to use them.

I am thinking the knife should be bone or stag.  I would like for everyone to suggest what would be a good knife for this purpose and their reasons.

Thanks in advance for everyone's suggestions.

My EDC is a Case Med. Amber Bone Stockman.  It is great for every day cutting and when taken care of it is a very flashy knife.

I'll second what Joe said.  Just go with the square bolsters

Well, I carry a Prime Stag Copperlock, it's a beauty! But they do make a nice Mini Copperlock and you can get it in Stag or bone and I think they even have a MOP!

It has a lock in the middle of the spine of the knife so the heal of your hand shouldn't accidentally depress the lock during cutting chores.

In bone it would be a slim knife for sliding into your front pocket in slacks or jeans and the 3 5/8 size is close to your EDC that you have now

It has a long pull and a swedge to dress up the clip blade and the front bolster sticks out a little to act as a guard to keep your hand from sliding forward during use..so whether you choose the regular size Copperlock or the one size closer to your EDC I believe you can't go wrong with the Copperlock Family, and it's a Lockback! Can't go wrong in my opinion!

Good luck in your search!

I am preparing a prospective shopping list for when I go to SMKW in July.  And one of the prospects on that list is a Mini Copperlock with amber jigged bone handles.

Now I know I will not be able to get nearly every thing on that list because it aready is right at a thousand dollars.  So when I get there quite a bit of deleting will have to be done.  But being able to actually see and handle the knives will make it easier to decide.  But it will still be hard to strike any knife off the list!

I agree with Max.  The Mini Copperlock gives you a lockback that is "dressier" than the Blackhorn, but nearly the same size. Stag is available as well as just about every color of bone you can think of.  Plus, if you have family, Fathers Day is a week away, and there is a very nice Fathers Day Mini Copperlock in dark red jigged bone out there to hint about.

I agree with Howard, Fathers day is a looker! They also have a Navy Blue and ,My favorite Smooth Chestnut for about $52.00 Fathers day a little pricier!

I also have an amber bone stockman on my prospective list.  (I know that will make Steve Hanner happy!)  I will look on eBay.  I have bought several knives on eBay.  Although being able to see and handle this particular knife before I buy it appeals to me.

Joe! My too! I carry two amber bone stockmans (large and medium) and now a yellow plastic large trapper in my small jeans pocket. So my recommendation is a medium amber bone stockman too! Only one thing: it can came pretty dull from factory, so sharpening is needed + to get it really cheap search for it on ebay! I got two each for ~25$!

If you want to stay with a lock back, the Mini Copperlock is tough to beat.

I do like a locking blade on a using knife.  My Mini Blackhorn is a lockback.

Small. Goes anywhere. Three blades to do anything. Special people carry it. You'll make lots of friends just by showing it to them...........

Something a little bigger?

The choices, ya'll are giving to him, go from a three blade knife to a single blade lock back. Charles, what style knife are you looking for and is Case the only brand you are considering?

Well Robert he wanted us to pick and give him a reason for why we picked what we did. There are other brands but I was considering price and for what your paying its hard to beat a Copperlock Mini or full size.
