Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Well, Great Eastern Cutlery Rendezvous 2013 has come to a close and I can't help but think that this one was one of the best!

From the beginning your met by an awesome cast of individuals who work at this awesome knife factory, and from ownership on down you get the perspective of everyone involved with this company. Getting the wonderful opportunity to further your relationship with this company and it's people is a lure that I will forever seek, attending the Rendezvous has been an experience and memory that I will always admire.

Mr. Howard is a class act, and a guy who is really steeped in the traditions of running a knife company. He isn't transfixed on building the biggest knife company out there, but he is devoted to making the best factory knives in the game, all while using time tested and prove techniques.

This man has vision of what quality is.
He and his team achieve it every time a freshly oiled knife is rolled into one of those trademark tubes.

One of the best kept secrets about this company is the employees who help to make these knives happen.

Christine in the front office is a peach to deal with and if it wasn't for her, I'm not sure I'd be such a fan of this place.
Her personality is so inviting and you can't help yourself but think she is family, and heck why not?

Then there are the faces and names of those who work these knives from start to finish, but to be honest I can't tell you their names right now.
Just know that the quality of knife that you receive doesn't even compare to the quality of people who are behind them.

Bill and his wife did an awesome job of inviting people into tours and giving everyone a warm welcome.

Jan and Donnie are a part of my family that I'm so proud to have.
Their love of these knives and these people is so inspiring, knowing them has taught me that there aren't just good people left in this world, but there are great people out there too.

Their set up for IKC and NKCA was awesome and I think there were more than a few members added over the weekend, which is an exciting prospect.

Josh Wills and his stepdad are great people.
I'm so drawing a blank on your stepdad's name Josh, it's killing me right now!!! Anyhow, I share a very like opinion with him. He views knives as do I and he knows a quality piece when he sees it.

Josh, I wish I had have the talent that you and Donnie possess, but we can't all makes awesome knives.
Great seeing you and take care of that family.

It was just wonderful to spend time with you, Ethan, Josh and his stepdad.  After we left I told Donnie I was so disappointed that I did not take a pic of all of you together.  That will be the first thing on next years list.

I read this to Donnie and he said to tell you that you hit the nail right on the head with this discussion.  The folks there make the knives, the company and good friends

Thanks Johnny for the review. It was great to hear from you again.

Hey Robert, I hope you can make it up here sometime and you'll be able to write up a review of your own. The memories will be worth the travel.

Here is what followed me home this year.

Quite a haul there JTS! I guess you'll be lookin for some overtime for a couple of weeks! Great choices!

I think the 81 CoonSkinner slipped by under the Radar. Traditionally a working knife, the Muskrat Pattern is a Local favorite down this way.

Johnny, you made some great choices, that's some really fine knives. Looks like a Mule in the bunch....lol No, really it's a nice fixed blade also. Johnny, I'd love to go up there and meet all of you but I'm a bit disable and can only drive an hour or two. If I had a driver, I could go places....lol

Johnny,

Great knives!  Looks like a good day knifing!
