It's amazing how far underwater archeology has progressed over the years.

Who would have thought that this wasn't just a rock.

Just a note: the Confederate sub HUNLEY was NOT a commissioned ship so it's incorrect to refer to it as the CSS HUNLEY. It was actually a private ship requisitioned by the navy to help break the blockade of Charleston. Civilian and sailors crewed it.

Amazing job that the Hunley Museum is doing to recover the history and artifacts aboard the Hunley. Folks around the state know the Hunley as the H.L. Hunley, named after her inventer.

That is sooo very cool.  The fact that so much had to go into the preservation based on the materials used to build the knife at that time was fascinating. 

Quite amazing!

I can still remember seeing the Hunley replica, in Charleston, when we had a field trip when I was in elementary school.

such a small ship with such a huge impact!
