Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I recently purchased an automatic hawkbill  knife. The guy told me it was made by Camillus  in the 1940's for Klein & Sons. It is stamped M. Klein and Sons, Chicago USA. I have researched and researched but can find no info on an automatic Klein. Did they actually make one and if so when or is this a customized knife? If it is customized the person did a great job.

Would it be possible for you to post some pics. They would be MOST helpful !!!

.

Specifically .. a good view of the stamping (both sides of the tang If both sides are stamped) ..&.. some pics of the overall knife (both open & closed). Also ... some pics of the "auto" portion of it.  e..g. the release mechanism (buttonlock, leverlock, etc.) A pic of the interior of the knife .. showing the leaf spring .. if one is used. I realize that last one is asking a bit ..but.. the more info you could provide .. the better chance we'd have of helping.

.

Autos are a very specific area of interest for mine. I'm not aware of a Klein auto .. especially one with a hawkbill blade. However ..all that really means.. is that I'm simply unaware of one.

.

Again .. the more info you could provide .. the higher likely hood one of us will be able to help.

.

You've certainly peaked my interest !!!

I'm kind of new at posting pics but here goes. Only one side of the tang is stamped. The safety works but the release is so tight that you can't push the button without pressing down on the blade. The spring only opens it only opens half way.
