...there when  three kinds of  fixed blade knives? You know, Military, Hunting, and Kitchen?

...or when there were two kinds of pocket knives:  You know a regular pocket knife or one of them Swiss Army  knives?

Now you have tactical this, and survival that.  A bushcraft here and a assisted opener there.

Multi-blade, multi-tool, rescue tool, etc.

No wonder things are a tad overwhelming for the newbie knife collector.  Every time I turn around it seems someone has just re-invented the fixed blade and the folder.
