Yeah, there's A LOT of guys that still like a Trapper for EDC. But, like everything else, different strokes for different folks!

  • Clint Thompson

Trappers are my favorite Case knife for EDC.  I like the bigger ones for the type of use I put them through.

Hey Barry! Glad to have you with us!!

  • Howard P Reynolds

Welcome Barry!  "Dos and Don'ts".  Do have fun here.  Folks are very friendly, and love Case knives (and probably love every make of knife out there).  Don't get in a snit or take offense.  Nobody means any harm here.  A few comments back I commented that Trappers should have gone the way of trapping furs - gone; just poking some fun.  But, I didn't mean any harm to the Trapper lovers, and I don't think anyone took offense.  Trappers are very popular, and useful - I just don't collect them.  Plus, there is a lot of expertise on knives and sharpening, polishing, etc. so ask away; folks here are willing to help.

Yeah, there's a lot of poking fun kidding around here! LOL! Jump in and have fun!

Who likes the TrapperLock? I like it except for the thumb stud. I wish they kept it old timey and didn't add it. But that's just me. Other wise I like it.

Thought this one was cool with the Horseshoe shield and the set below with belt buckle.

Hey, looks at this cool set.....with hand warmer!

  • Ken Spielvogel

Well look at that - I had a hand warmer when I was a kid - haven't seen one since. Nice set Craig.

  • Howard P Reynolds

Lookee here, Craig, on that third Wednesday you must be gettin more than your share of funds - Stockmans, Trappers, Canoes, Butterbeans, Copperlocks, and now Trapperlocks!

I'll be askin SS to send mine on the first Wednesday soes I get some before they run out on the third Wednesday when you take your cut!

  • Ken Spielvogel

Howard, now that's funny-Craig does seem to be getting some nice goods - thank you SS.

  • Howard P Reynolds

    Ken,

For years I have been using a Jon-E-Warmer during deer season.  I picked up a Zippo hand warmer a couple years ago, and it works great!  The Jon-E-Warmer still works well, too.  The punk or solid fuel warmers, when they work, do a good job as well, but sometimes the fuel sticks go out.

    Craig Henry

I never had a hand warmer! Don't remember being that cold when we went out hunting. But that was back in the old days when I was indestructible. LOL!

Believe it or not, my funds are limited. I just make sure I do business with dealers that have good prices. And we don't take fancy vacations, AND we don't have a cell phone plan!! Cass just has one of those TracFone cell phones for emergencies.....more money for knives!

Won't work getting your SS switched Howard, I have secret dealers I do business with....meet them in the alley at 3AM! LOL!

  • Jan Carter

wow, 3am alley meeting without a cell phone!  LOL, there really is nothing like a good knife dealer

    Craig Henry

But I DO have a knife with me! LOL!

  • Lee Smith

I bought a trapperlock a while back with a pocketclip. The guy I got it from had dropped it and broke the thumbstud off. I called case and they sent me a new one. I sold it to a guy at work and he dropped it and broke it off again. He sent the knife back to case. Seems to me like they might have a problem there.

    Craig Henry

I'd rather not have the thumb stud, but I guess a lot of guys like it. I'll probably get one sooner or later anywho.

It's probably just screwed on, and the way it sticks out, I'd say it would break off pretty easy if dropped and it landed on the thumb stud.

  • Ken Spielvogel

Here is my new Case XX Caliber Camo LB Zytel 118-just got it yesterday and I really like it.A good pair to have: The Case Blackhorn and The Case Caliber

  • Howard P Reynolds

    Ken,

Seeing the two together, I think I like the lines of the Blackhorn better than the Caliber, but both are nice, and you should get plenty of work done with either one.
