Ken, you need to post your Canoe up there in the Canoe Forum! Or here, or wherever you want! LOL!

I like these big Panama Trappers. Anyone have one?

  • Paul Work

I've had my eye on that barnboard PT for a while now.  The only thing holding me back is that I would never use it.

That doesn't mean that you should refrain Craig...

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Yeah, I know I have to get one sometime, it's just the question of Molasses or Ebony.

You don't have to use it to enjoy it. Look at it....admire it....whisper sweet nothings in it's ear.

  • Paul Work

But it's so big...it might scare the others...

    Craig Henry

LOL! Just tell them he's their Big Brother, to care for them and guide them through life.

I'm in my serious mind making up frame of mind between now and next Wednesday. Can you see the smoke? That's me trying to think on one brain cell. That big Panama Trapper is weighing heavy. Same thing happened when I started to think about a Gunboat last month. Hmmm.....

    Craig Henry

I was looking at those the other day......nice stuff!!

The Panama rapper is weighing VERY heavy on my mind. So heavy I can't move.

Won't be long now until Wednesday!

I haven't been happier collecting knives since I collected Schrades back in the 1980's! I LOVE my Case knives. GO CASE!!

I think the laser engraved Duck feathers is cool on this one!

  • Howard P Reynolds

Now that is a nice looking Trapper.  The DU Canoe with the feather jug (that you posted on page 15 of this blog) is more elegant but, I won't quibble.

  • Jan Carter

Hunter green in the Panama!  The duck feathers are cool!

I know I'm going to get a Tiny Trapper in the Bermuda Green, so I might get the 54 in it too.

SOME way, SOME how, I have to figure how I can fit two of these in my budget one month. Why two? One for the pocket and one........

  • Ken Spielvogel

I'll bet you figure it out Craig - it would be a shame not to have one for the pocket to. That's a real pretty knife.

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Yeah, I've wanted one for a while now. Maybe next month.

  • Tobias Gibson

One for the pocket and one for ME!  That was so nice Craig.  Thanks for think of your  new "old" friend Toby!   LOL  Those swaybacks are really nice!

Win I win the lottery I'll buy everyone a knife! LOL! That is if I ever start playing the lottery. LOL!

  • Howard P Reynolds

Fantastic Craig!  Put me down for a Dietmar Kressler.

Maybe I should have said "When I win the lottery I'll buy everyone a knife.......within reason."

    Trappers this month.

    Craig Henry

    Speaking of Trappers........good article...........

    http://www.knifeworld.com/ctrbytofo.html

  • Howard P Reynolds

Agreed, Craig - good article.  It is perhaps a good thing that I don't collect Trappers.

    1.  The old ones are way too expensive for my taste, so I could only afford the dime-a-dozen new ones.  For a Grand, I would be looking for a fixed blade with about a 6" blade, a minimum of 3/16" thick, and "exotic" steel. Plus, I'd want to use it, and although a Tested XX trapper I might find would almost certainly be used - and expensive, I would be uncomfortable using it.

    2.  The article was confusing.

I get that the early Trappers had/have short rear bolsters, and I get the closed "C", but in that last picture with the three trappers I can't tell the top two apart.

One reason I'd never get into the old Case knives, besides cost, it would take too much studying! LOL!

The deed is done. I'm broke again.....until next month.......unless the Government decides to take all I have by then.

  • Ken Spielvogel

So Craig, share with us what you got......

Been in a little bit of a rut since I got out of the hospital. Today I decided to get out of it and made a stop on the way home for a new edc.So I bought 2. Love the buffalo horn. It makes me growl just like the stag does.

  • Paul Ring

I understand perfectly Lee. It truly is therapy! Beautiful buffalo horn handles.
