Charles's comment brings up a point I've heard before. I've been told that removing a knife from clam packaging does not devalue the knife. In fact older knives still in clam packaging can be damaged from the gases released from the clam packaging beign exposed to light or just stored.
I've been told you're better off removing the knife and card stock from the clam packaging and just keeping it.
HEY THIS GOES BACK TO A POST THAT WAS MADE ON FRIDAY ABOUT ANOTHER 25cent CASE KNIFE. i looked and i didnt see anyone say anything and on this one i was very surprised as its a CASE CLASSIC KNIFE. please back up a few posts and you will see it.-my reply-
joe..hey im gonna send you a friend requst. the case 25 cent knife you have posted is NOT a 1920-1940 25cent case knife.. what you have their is what is called a CASE CLASSIC... made by jim parker. but very simply put the 25cent case knives were all greenbone... BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT HERE do you see the 19 and the the 94 ... thats the date the knife was made ...1994. its a case classic. if you collect CASE knives and you have not read at all about JIM PARKER and CASE CLASSICS you should do so ASAP!... sending off friend request!..if you recently bougt this and need help taking it back ,even on ebay..llet m know...if thats what you wanna do.
Picked up the copperlock Friday. The more I looked at it the more I liked it. So I went back today and got the peanut. I think they will go on to the edc list. The scale color is brick red but I have no idea what the jigging pattern is.
@PAUL i was just about to say its what case calls their winterbottom jig.. after the Winterbottom Bone CO. ..if case doe or hs in the past actually doe winterbottom bone but in it traditional coloring please let me know!!... the brick red look great!!
There's an idea! Spray paint one. It should probably be a smooth surface handle to lok correct. I suggest you buy a Case Mother of Pear mini-trapper and spray paint it, Craig. Let me know how it turns out. I'm guessing right after you do it the Case Min-trapper in Comp-Yellow will come out of the vault!
HEY CRAIG.....i love case...{actually i have received knives free from them..they are one of the bst!} sorta similar, funny story .
i simply said to case on their wall on FACEBOOK..i asked them after all these years ..why the didnt have and EASY OPEN SODBUSTER... to me its a great knife for it.. i have a few SODS..and 2 of them i made into EO's...i use the EO and not the PULL at all.also with the current shape a deep EO is not needed.it really is better as a work knife with the EO cut. anyway i told them most of that but summed up in a series of posts back and forth .some even tosed up pics of their SODS that they had worked EO cuts on..it was cool.
I even went on to tell them that other makers are already making the SOD with EO and it sells. i asked them straight up why they would not want to already seal up that gap.they already sell the most popular and well known sodbuster.advertising would be nothing and adding the EO would cost very little.
well after a few posts ..back and forth and others comments.....they came back to finally say they looked into it and CASE has looked at the idea but obviously has not done it. the last post from them cause i just let it go,facebook gets nuts..posts on popular sites grow big!..
...the last post was basically saying if they do go ahead and make an EO SODBUSTER they will make note of my posts and let me know right away!.... LOLOLOL..now no promise of knife or anything...but i doubt it..folks were even joking about one of kind SOD PROTO..and stufflike that..."wait by that box, anyday now"...LOL ..
AND I LOVE CASE THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GREAT TO ME...so please take this with a grain of salt...i honestly doubt if they sat around and designed the sod with an EO...step 2 or 7 or 125 would be to find pete on facebook and let him know!....LOL..but ...ill keep my fingers crossed!~...
Yep, that's it Ken.....I need a good ole' Case Yeller Trapper.......and a Yeller Mini-Trapper........and a Yeller Tiny Trapper........when they make the Yeller Tiny Trapper for me.
Thanks a lot Lee! Most of my Case knives are just run of the mill regulars. I thought they were pretty decent but now I'm worried they burst into flames at any minute!
The only Mini-Trapper I have right now is the regular Amber bone. Not that there's an irregular Amber bone Mini-Trapper.
I used to carry a Case Mini-Trapper waaay back around 1980. In fact it was a 1980 10 dot. But I digress........
I need to get the yeller, Chestnut and Amber standard 54 Trapper, and a Yeller and Chestnut Mini-Trapper. For the regular everyday Trappers......as opposed to any special ones.......if you want to call the others special.
I have 3 Case and 2 RR Mini trappers - they are a great knife to carry, a good in between knife, fits well in hand and pocket. You have a good passion for Case Trappers - that's a good aim in collecting.
Yep, RR 804, is 2 inch Tiny Trapper in Yellow Comp. Cost about $7. It would make a nice place holder until Case gets its tiny trapper out of the vault!
RR1107 is a five blade peanut with a spay blade so it is kind of a "trapper nut" on steroids. (and a little goofy in my opinion!)
So, when the government shuts down on 01 OCT, your mailbox might be empty on that third Wednesday for months to come, and fall is a bit late for a lemonade stand.

A Tiny Trapper in yellow handles is needed. All the other Trappers come in yellow, why not a Tiny Trapper?!
Sep 17, 2013

Craig, about the Tiny Yellow Trapper... Case has decided it would be fun to torment you and not making one in yellow!
It is kind of like "Why their isn't a Boy Scout Junior Scout in Zytel or a Boy Scout Russlock in anything?" They're just tormenting me!
