In 1718, the notorious pirate Blackbeard lost his flagship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, when it ran aground in Beaufort Inlet. For more than 270 years, it was hidden by water and sand – a mystery to archaeologists around the world.

I like that Fish & Game with the deer.

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Yeah Charles, I'll have to think about getting one of those.

By the way, I should mention the Fish and Game Series is a SHC exclusive. The U.S. Marine Series will be at other Case dealers too.

  • Ken Spielvogel

    Craig, those are super knives.

Can't figure out which style Marine knife I like best.....the red or the blue.

  • Ken Spielvogel

Craig, my pick would be the Red. The Blue is nice to.

  • Lee Smith

Just get a navy one. lol

  • Max McGruder

I agree with Lee the Navy one seems more fitting because of the bell hop term with them and the Marines. LOL, just kidding !!

    Should get them both!

    Craig Henry

I think I like the red best too Ken. I REALLY like that Globe and Anchor shield.

Wish they'd do some Army ones like those, then my son would be happy......well, no, he'd want it to be a Tanker knife! Those Tankers are fussy! LOL!

  • Ken Spielvogel

They should do one for each of the 5 Services. That would be great.

    Craig Henry

I agree Ken! Would make a great set!

  • Featured

    Charles Sample

Craig, you sound like me.   Actually they ask me to sing solo at church.  So low you can't hear me!  I sing tenor, ten or twelve notes behind!

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

If I sang solo in Church I would be excommunicated! LOL!

hobo sets make some of the best gift knives ..IMO..

i have a collection of hobopatterns but no case.. either ODDBALL .. or BSA/GSA sets.

i know this is goona sound funny..but i actyually EDC a BSA set everyday. laugh if ya want but its a "do your own dishes household" and folks know that the pile of silveware that has some how built up isnt mine...lol... it works!

  • Max McGruder

I thought things were starting to go dark! LOL!

    Craig Henry

That Hobo is THICK! I'm going to have to put it in the display cabinet taken apart. This is first knife I will be able to display both the front and back handle at the same time! LOL!

  • Howard P Reynolds

Craig, you need to git chew one of them new ones with the Zytel handles (Carhartt or regular Case) to put in your pack.

  • Ken Spielvogel

Yes, those Case with Zytel handles are really handy knives.

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

I think the Zytel handled one are nice, but I generally prefer to stick with the old timey traditional look.....since I'm old timey and traditional.....as I get older should I look for knives with cracks and wrinkles? LOL! But the thinner Zytel ones would be handy.

Case has a sheath for the Hobo.....

Didn't order as many knives this month as I usually do. A bunch of things came up that had to cut into the knife allowance!

  • peter force

YEA CRAIG ...and if ya like ole timey you can hunt down the original HOBO sheaths as they have changed.. they dont have many but CASE has sheaths that carry their knives name. the hobo set im looking at that is in AMBER bone i need to finish up the amber bone set not only has the HOBO sheath but a ZIPPO as well!...check EBAY for just hobo sheaths for a bit and youll find an older one for not much$$$

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Mine's gonna stay in my display cabinet, but the sheaths are neat. I like that Amber bone one.

  • Tobias Gibson

I know this is blasphemy, but I find that Hobo way too wide and way to heavy to use as real hobo knife.  (not to mention pricy!)

All that said, it sure does look nice!

  • Clint Thompson

    Tobias...

I agree on the size.  But it is a Case and this will be a collector for sure. I like the whole package and would carry it in my rucksack.  I guess I will vary from my swing guard fetish and get one of these bad boys.

  • Randall Vaughn

I have one I keep in a backpack when you break it down to use I don't think it is to big if it were much smaller would be hard to eat with

  • Tobias Gibson

Actually Randall, I think you're wrong.  Despite its bulk, the fork and spoon are already too small for easy eating!

The Ozark Trail  (Walmart Special) Hobo has a good size fork and spoon that you can actually eat with easily!  Unfortunately the knife is one the spoon half .  But for $5, it gets the job done.

I own several hobo knives but when it comes to backpacking and even my bug out bag, I decided a long time ago it made more sense to just toss in a tea spoon and a salad fork held together inside a small.  When I was in the Army, I usually put them inside one of my canteen covers.

Again, I like Hobos and own quite a few and have often been tempted to get a Case Hobo.  I'm guessing eventually I'll buy the BSA one in Navy Blue Bone but having held it and looked at it at SMKW a year or two ago, I considered it more or less useless for actual eating.  Great concept but poor execution.

  • Tobias Gibson

Randall, please don't take my last post as a personal attack.  Also all of you Case fans, please understand I also love Case knives and own several.

I LOVE my Case Hobo, and think it would work great for me....IF I were to use it. But, it's too nice for me to get the nerve! LOL!
