I like that Root beer float Outlaw. Each one is a bit different.....you could have a whole collection of them! LOL! I like that Bocote Too. And the jigged bone in the pictures on their site looks really good. Hmmm........

Another question;

I know what burnt stag is. And UN-burnt stag is....not burnt or natural.  But, in GECs descriptions, what is the difference between "Natural Stag" and "Genuine Stag"?  Seems like those two would be one and the same.

You're right really close ...except Genuine Stag comes from  stag horn rolls were GEC will then cut to form handles , Natural stag is all ready cut into slabs from a supplier and won't need to be burnt because of the appearance....

Thanks, Jan! I was looking for it yesterday but couldn't seem to find it. The orange one, that is. And, yes! The GEC GITD scales appear to be kind of a translucent white--at least from the pics I've seen.

I can't tell you how happy I am that these were release again! When they came out earlier this year I didn't pay too much attention to them. That is until I saw a picture someone had posted in another forum. I love orange! But it was a close-up of the tang stamp that really put me over the top on this knife. I mean, really! "REDNECK FARM TOOL" I had to have one! But, alas! By the time I saw that picture, with that close-up of the tang stamp, they were all gone!

But now I have one reserved and it will be sent to me just as soon as the dealer receives his order from GEC. Which should be this week! Yippy Skippy! I'm a very happy camper tonight! lol.

Oh, well! I guess I was right the first time when I was wondering whether I was stuck on stupid because I couldn't find a dealer who actually had one! That's also one more reason why I should actually start reading what things say. Like instructions n' stuff!

It's really okay, though, that it's no longer a "REDNECK." I just thought that the redneck tang and pivot screw marking was cool and quirky. I'm about as far from being a redneck as one person could possibly be. The fact that it's a high quality orange sodbuster should more than compensate for the lack of any particular marking.

btw -- That link you posted. Duh! I never even saw that page with those pictures yesterday, before I ordered one from Collector Knives. All I saw was GEC 's product pic (the one I posted below) and projected my desires upon it without really even reading what IT said. Double Duh!

In any event. Yay! I have a Farm and Field Tool headed my way! And it is ORANGE.....isn't it? I hope it's orange??? lol

Hey Ron, are you going to be using it? If so, after some use how about a review and all the ins and outs on how that O1 tool steel is?

Yes, sir! I plan on giving it a lot of pocket time. I'm curious about the O1 myself. I'll be posting some pics just as soon as it arrives. Which I hope will be fairly soon. Collector Knives should get them in and mine sent out, hopefully, sometime in this next week. I'll keep ya posted, though, fersure!

Well, if you like it, I just might have to get one myself to use here on the Henry  Ranch (the backyard).

That 's a really interesting comparison!. With all of that manganese and tungsten, not to mention vanadium, that O1 looks like it should work great in that Bullnose. I suspect that it will be a lot tougher to sharpen that the 1095, though? I'm really itchin' to get that Bullnose in my hand!

Ever since I got my first slipjoint (a Queen Gunstock) I've got a weakness for Gunstock patterns. This one might tempt me too much....

From what I read around and about the net, Outlaws are selling at a pretty good clip. With many saying it's going to be hard not getting more than one!

I don't know why, but it just looks "Old West" to me. 

(Maybe it's the pictures GEC has in the background on their site? LOL!)

You know...I like the "white" look. Wish they do it in ivory micarta.
