My father and I were Buck knife representatives from 1964 until 1987. I am so glad that the love for the Buck knife is still so strong. PLEASE, HELP ME MOVE THESE BUCK KNIVES TO SOMEONE THAT WOULD APPRECIATE THEM.
I HAVE 2 sets of 6 piece cactus filled handles steak knife set from Buck. Less than 10 sets ever made by Buck. These sets were presented to top Buck Knife Sales Representatives in the late 1970s over a 2 year period. The knives are in a presentation box and are in great condition as they were the day awarded by Buck. These sets have been priced by long time Buck Knife collector at $800 a set. We are asking $375 each. A picture of the knives can be emailed upon request.
    Thank you, Pat Washmon pwashmon@sbcglobal.net

Jan, just under the handle options is a horizontal scrollbar. Scroll to the right for more handle material options.

I have a reverse tang stamped buck110 folder, any help on year or value is much appreciated!

  • Brad T.

I finished my first re-habbed 110. Spanish Lace Damascus Drop point blade from Grand Leavitt, Redheart Wood scales on a '70's 110 Brass Bolster and liner frame.

  • Ron Cooper

Good work, Brad! How does it feel as far as the lock-up and overall operation of the blade - opening and closing? It sure looks pretty!

    Kudos, my friend!

  • Brad T.

    Ron,
It locks up like new. It feels great, it is about 1/16" thinner than stock due using a beltsander to finish the scales to be flush with the bolsters. I have 2 more 110's to play with but they will have to wait until after I pay for my club knife.
  • Ron Cooper

Not too shabby for your first effort - It looks great!

  • Jerry Moores

My 2 favorite 110s - I have a weakness for 110s and love different handle material....

  • Ron Cooper

    Jerry,

I can certainly appreciate why those two might rank as favorites. They are both exceptional examples of just how beautiful the Buck 110 can really be. That Proto 1 of 1 is pimped to the max -- love it! But for my taste, if I had to choose a personal fav between the two, it would have to be the ram's horn with the nickel silver bolsters and satin blade. It's ruggedly beautiful, but not so much so that I would be afraid to use it. These are after all hunting knives. Besides, one of those scorpions might attempt to bite me if I attempted to use their knife!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to clean all this drool off of my keyboard.

    Cheers, my friend!

  • Jerry Moores

Thanks Ron! I, too, favor the ram's horn - I have a real passion for ram's horn handles! I have several and a knife maker friend told me it is probably the most stable handle material - long-term... Here is a Eddie White recurve I had him make 2 years ago....

  • Ron Cooper

Wowsa! I don't know what I like best about the knife - Those gorgeous ram's horn scales or that drop point hollow ground recurved blade?

That's what I would call a deliciously delirious dilemma! Lucky you!

  • Brad T.

    Jerry,
I have to agree those Ram horn scales are beautiful and masculine at the same time. My next 110 will incorporate Rams horn scales.
  • ken benson

    Jerry

Are you fitting the ram horn  on 110s for customers. If so   Please inquire for particulars. email borntoraisehogs@msn.com  I would do it myself, if I had talent or skill. In any case, beautiful work.

  • Jerry Moores

I truly wish I could! I just collect and admire mostly - I have a hand full I use regularly and the rest are in cabinets.....

  • Jerry Moores

Gorgeous handles make gorgeous knives! These 2 are beauties!

  • Ron Cooper

Those a beautiful. Anita! I especially like the abalone!

  • Billy Oneale

Nice, Anita. Those are great looking.
  • Gary Nelson

    Those 110's are really cool.

  • Brad T.

Newest 110 acquisition. 1989 finger groove. The blade was flawless upon arrival, got 2 sheaths with the purchase. A Schrade sheath that now has my vintage 7OT in it and an older custom Quick draw sheath that now alternates occupants between the Finger groove and my Custom 110. $45 shipped, I am still stunned at that price.

  • James Cole

Brad, Did you wear a mask during that robbery?

  • Brad T.

James, it was a a Buy it Now.
  • James Cole

No Brad, just saying you got a steal on that deal.  And everything you got has character.

  • Brad T.

James, it definitely was a steal. I was half expecting it not to show up. LOL

The Quickdraw sheath has been on my belt everyday, some think it odd when paired  with my pleated slacks and button down business attire. But, when I pull my customized 110 out they understand.

  • jeff

could use some help with this one....i bought this 110 many years ago, been stored for many years, this discussion made me dig it out...here it is..i could use some help with the stamp on the handle. does anyone know what it is for? it has my interest up. ;-)

  • Ron Cooper

    Hi, Jeff!

I'm certainly no authority on Buck knives (or anything else, for that matter), but for openers you have what appears to be a very nice 1987 Buck 110 Folding Hunter. So much for the obvious, eh. As for the etch that appears on the handle, as well as the sheath, I can only speculate that this knife was a special order for a Company for whom this logo represents? As I'm sure you know, Buck, like most knife manufacturers, fills numerous orders for companies or groups. As well as commemorative knives.

I will suggest that if you find the Company who uses(ed) that logo you will solve your mystery. I'm thinking it might be for a paper company. After all, paper comes from trees. That's just a guess, though.

Good luck! Let us know what you find out.

  • jeff

thanks ron,..i believe that symbol was used on quite a few different products.if I am not mistaken, back in late 80's early 90's it had something to do with saving the rain forest?? was just hopeing someone would see it and say...I know what that is!!! lol  but I will dig deeper if I dont get a reply like that. :) thankyou tho'. I do recall seeing that symbol on other products , I just cant bring the back of my mind to the front!  been too long i believe! lol

  • Ron Cooper

Jeff, that's what makes knife collecting so much fun -- the adventures that our knives take us on!

    Cheers, my friend!

  • Philip Bernier

Where can you find a 50th anniversary 110 and what year was the 112 Ranger originally made?

  • Ron Cooper

Phillip, I believe that 1972 was the first year for the 112 Ranger? As for as the Silver Anniversary Buck knives, 110's and other models, I believe you would need to be a BCCI member, right now? I'm not even sure the members have them yet since they weren't scheduled for release until this month - June 2013. I'm sure that some will find their way to the secondary market in the days to come, though.

I should hasten to add that I am just passing on what I have heard. I could be wrong since I have no first hand knowledge and lately I seem to find myself chewing on my own feet a lot. I've taken to carrying a pocket sized foot extractor in order to reconcile this frequent occurrence.

Cheers, my friend -- Happy Sunday!

  • Philip Bernier

Thank you Ron for the info. I will not hold you responsible if your info is incorrect.

BCCI I am not familiar with that acronym.

    Thank you. Phil

  • Ron Cooper

Forgive me, Philip. BCCI stands for Buck Collectors Club, Inc.

  • Ricky L McConnell

    Hi all,

Just joined the group. I bought a 110 at Dick's sporting goods today. Nothing special just a nice new 110. It came with a nylon sheath , so I will be upgrading to a leather one in the future. I had a 110 growing  up, but lost it over the years and got interested in owning one again when I got into collecting knives.

  • Gary Nelson

I just picked up two of these Buck 110-SP56-0 autos.  Original box and papers.  The date on the box is from 2004 and 2005.  Let me know if you want one.

  • Jan Carter

Although Donnie has a few.  This is my first 110, maybe of many

  • Ken Spielvogel

Steve, I really like that 50th anniv 110. Looks like a snazzy knife.

  • Ron Cooper

I wish that 50th Anniversary 110 came with an S30V blade, nickel silver bolsters/pins/shield and ebony wood. But, hey! Buck didn't ask me. *pouty face*

  • Billy Oneale

I may have to get that one. You can 't beat a 110 for looks and usability. There is a guy in Colorado that does some really nice rehandler of 110. I think it is arksknives.
  • Billy Oneale

    Rehandling
  • Ricky L McConnell

I like the look of the 50th Anniversary. I will have to have one. I have been impressed with the recent quality of the 110.

  • Sunil Ram

I will definitely be getting TWO of them. Also check out the Smoky Mountain Knife Works exclusive that you can get right now. http://www.smkw.com/webapp/eCommerce/products/Buck/Buck%C2%AE+50th+.... I just received mine today.
