I am so happy to announce that Queen Cutlery will be making our next offering for us. After some great conversations with Ryan Daniels it was decided that they would make our next knife which will be a recreation of an old Cattaraugus pattern called a Plumbers whittler. It will be marked Electric Cutlery to honor JBF's work as a salesman for Freidmann & Lauterjung who held the Electric trademark at the time he was selling for them. I have attached a picture of the box which shows the etch that will be on the main blade.
We are looking forward to having a long relationship with the Daniels family and Queen Cutlery.
Just kinda stumbled on this group. JBF Champlin - the leader in Little Valley Cutleries - "The Village of Knives". I've been reading John D. Wells "My Old Jack Knife" story to JBF Champlin. Its in Ritchie and Stewarts Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. ID and values book. JBF would be proud of the legacy he has left.
Looking forward to some good discussion on this group. Thanks Mike.
I've been digging into Friedmann & Lauterjung allot the last few weeks. Here's a photo of the only F&L knife that I own. It's in rough shape, but I still think it's a great specimen of their work. This is a whittler with a broken pen blade.
Also, I've made some changes to the Electric Cutlery article I posted on our Champlin web page. Check it out if your a history geek.

I forgot to mention that the springs on this Whittler are tapered. They are wider at the pen blade end of the knife.
I think the inlays are genuine tortoise, but I'm not sure.
