Forehand Model 1901 Hammerless

Good Morning!

I have acquired a Hopkins and Allen - Forehand Model 1901 Hammerless 5 shot .38 revolver.

Somehow, the hammer had gotten broken (on a hammerless revolver?).  The two pieces of the hammer assembly, the mainspring, and the original grips and screw, were in a zip-lock.  It took a bit to learn and figure out exactly what component I needed.  After a conversation with a retired BMCM, I finally learned that even though this is only a .38 caliber, it is considered to be a H&A large frame revolver.

After that, I was able to purchase the required hammer fly, spring and pin.  It should be arriving today.  Then I can clean everything and re-assemble.  :)

As close as I can figure this revolver was made between 1905 and 1911.  It is certainly not one of the most  high profile revolver, but its a survivor...  and it was my dad's.  I do not know when, or even how he came by it.  But just that he had it, and I believe had the intention of fixing it back up.  I am hoping to finish that which he started.  Once I have it all fixed up, I will post a couple of photos here.
