    Steve,

They're not on Back order! They haven't been made yet! They're just taking orders! I heard a July delivery, though I have heard earlier, I'll stay with the later!

  • Max McGruder

At XXCutlery.com if you click on the pic to look at it they give you the option of them emailing you when they become available.

has anyone gone to t5he parker knife show. i would like to go to it sometime

    Craig Henry

Yeah, I've noticed that Shepherd Hills Cutlery says "Currently On Backorder" if they actually ARE on backorder, or if they just haven't come in yet.

  • Max McGruder

I think it depends if its on back order or not. Some probably are on backorder others haven't come out yet. Carhartt hasn't come out yet. Bone Sodbusters aren't out yet either.

I wish they'd bring those Shadow Bones back out!!

  • Lee Smith

    HEY CASE BRING EM BACK!!!!!

  • Lee Smith

My list just keeps getting longer and longer and longer. I know this there are none on ebay.

  • Derek Bodford

Surf & Turf located in Selma NC (919-965-5343) still has some of these in stock. They won't break the display board (but they will sell the whole board) but they've still got a few patterns left. I bought a Butterbean just a few months ago. Best part is that they're selling them for what they were priced when they were released. I love finding dealers that don't have a webpage!

  • Lee Smith

Ok my turn. What is it?

  • Max McGruder

A florists knife or a bud knife I believe. Could be wrong.
  • Lee Smith

Well Max you did it again. Its a 1940-64 florist knife. They quit making them in 1967. Bought it at a flea market.

I may have to leave the Case Group!  Too many pretty knives and not enough money to buy them!     It's like going to am AA meeting at the local saloon!

  • Clint Thompson

I am in this with you guys..up to the ears.  I just focus on the patterns I like and mostly buy used Case knives which are in sad shape.  I then clean them up and add them to the collection or pass them on to the Son, Grandson, Nephews and a couple of Nieces.  I guess I am a Case rescuer.

  • Clint Thompson

    Ron...

You need to start the old "Rat Hole" money account.  Yes...hide money from the wife.  Sell stuff you don't want on eBay or to people you meet at the barber shop.  It works.  "This old knife...why do you ask?"  LOL!

  • Tobias Gibson

Skipping lunch, loose change from the dryer, change back at the grocery store, etc.  It all adds up.  I use the same money to buy my wife things.  As long as it doesn't disrupt the budget, there really isn't a room to complain, especially when she  suddenly asks for a $100 for an unexpected emergency and the money is there for it.

If she go out for lunch with the girls, I can buy knives!

Thank goodness my wife likes my knives! And, gives me suggestions on what to get next! And, buys some for me! LOL!

    Craig Henry

Bob, put a speaker under her pillow and at night run a recording that repeats "I can't live without knives....." Then after a couple of weeks she'll WANT you to buy knives.....or she'll kill you.....either way you'll be out of your misery.

    Any new Case knives??

  • Tobias Gibson

Case XX USA era (before dots) 6207 Mini Trapper.  When I received it (along with about fifty other knives) it was rusted shut.   Took a while to loosen the blades enough to get them open.  As photo shows, the back scale was broken.   Some TLC, Coon-P and gentle rust removal got the blades operational.  The handle was another problem.   A little dental resin, and some hand jigging and dying brought the knife back to a decent quality EDC.

    Front side after clean up

    Back side broken scale

    Back side, scale repaired

Too bad that scale is busted

Considering this "Half Whittler" this month......

  • Tobias Gibson

It indeed was too bad, yet it cleaned up nice. You need to check it out with a magnifying glass to realize it was repaired. (I'm ethical.  I not going to  try to sell it!)

Anyone familiar with these? Do they come with the "Corelon" etch like the ones I see at SMKW? I don't like that etch.

  • Max McGruder

Not all have the etch I have some with that are the First in the series and some

    that don't have the etch.

    Corelon with etch

    Corelon

    Craig Henry

There they are. Thanks Max. I don't know why I don't like the ones with the etch. Maybe if I get one WITH the etch it will grow on me. It doesn't look too bad in your pictures.

Funny, I was looking at the "Half Whittler and you post pictures of some Corelon knives!

  • Billy Oneale

I have all that were made in the Cats Eye corelon and they have the blade etch.
  • Max McGruder

Craig, that's why I posted the pics, had them for years. Also have some micro toothpicks in it about an inch and a half long! Have to take some pics tomorrow and post them!

Deadwood knives has quite a few in stock in all patterns. http://www.deadwoodknives.com/c-12153-case-xx.aspx?pagenum=1&se...

  • Lee Smith

I try to stay away from blade etch. Looks real bad if you mess them up.

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

That's the only problem with etches in general. If there's a minor scratch or abrasion you want to polish out the etch gets messed up. And it's a royal pain to work with Q-Tips and toothpicks  to get around the etch.....which I have done.

I have a couple but they're called Barnboard Burnt Oatmeal Bone.

Hmmm, what's the difference, if any? Different year of manufacture?  Thanks Max.
