A Pocket Worn Red, Olive Green Barnboard, and Brown Bone with pinched bolsters too!

  • Max McGruder

Oh wow I have the Brown Bone pinched bolster Canoe, it has the look of a canoe with both ends pinched together! Too cool!
Gotta like the older ones. They are getting harder to find.
  • Howard P Reynolds

    Craig,

I HAD an Ivy Canoe, but one of my (grown) daughters begged me for it.  Should have bought two when it came out.  Well, the girls will eventually get the knives anyway, and I still have plenty to look at.

    Craig Henry

Well at least you kept it in the family Howard! LOL!

I saw your standard size Brown Bone with pinched bolsters Max, it's a beauty!

If I remember right, there were five (?) patterns used for the Green Ivy.

besides my Baby Butterbeans I'm thinking about this one......which if I like I'll have to figure out how I can get my Beans AND Tiny Trappers! LOL!

  • Howard P Reynolds

Hahaha.  I'm with you on the Canoes and Beans, Craig.  But, Trappers shoulda died off with the trapping industry; just ain't my cup of tea.  Mind you, I have some cause everbody commemorates somthin with a dang Trapper.  PA Game Commission issued a series of 5 Mini-Trappers (one each year), one for each of PAs game birds, and the NRA issued at least one.  Plus, the Remington 25 year Anniversary Bullet knife was a big trapper.

Once upon a time I felt the same way, but then I started to carry a Case Mini Trapper back around 1980 for a while and suddenly I started to appreciate the long spey blade! So for me, I like it when I want a blade that isn't so "pointy" for some jobs. So I'm one of the ones that still appreciates the good old Trapper.

  • Howard P Reynolds

Maybe they kept the pattern cause you are trapped into buyin one if you want a commemorative knife, like the Case Presidential Dollar ones - of which I have none, cause I been buyin the Silver Eagle Canoes.

My Stockmans are taking a rest. It's Canoes and Trappers for a while I think. But I DO "need" a Swayback Gent in Pocket Worn Red.....for using.......and one for collecting. LOL!

  • Tobias Gibson

For me, if I want a non pointy blade, i like a sheepfoot or coping blade.  As for the spay blade, on a few occasions I've take a file and rounded the tip off so it lacks that itty-bitty point.  The value of the knife disappears but then I have an actual non-pointy blade.

  • Ken Spielvogel

I like the Case mini trappers - I have two that I use at times for EDC.

    Craig Henry

Yeah, there's A LOT of guys that still like a Trapper for EDC. But, like everything else, different strokes for different folks!

  • Clint Thompson

Trappers are my favorite Case knife for EDC.  I like the bigger ones for the type of use I put them through.
