Stainless is so cold, lifeless and if heated up too hot may or may not return to its original shape. Carbon steel is warm, beautiful and dependable. Unique in its own way. Yes carbon steel needs a little more attention and loving care but the rewards are worth it. I love my carbon steel Case knives.
Hahahaha. Well, the best stainless has high carbon. CPM-3V (.8C), 154CM (1.05C), BG-42 (1.15C). [1095 (.9-1.03C)]. So, a bunch of "stainless" has essentially 1095 carbon in it. And, after a few years your stainless blade looks better than you do (not a bad thing in my case). Eventually, 1095 needs cosmetic surgery to look good. I know 1095 tugs at the heartstrings of some, but if we didn't move on to bigger and better we would still be listening to cassettes or 8-tracks, and transistor radios.
Charles, if you find one, it'll probably still be getting 1930s-1940s radio stations. Wow! Glenn Miller on Armed Forces Radio! The Shadow, the Bickersons, The Loooone Ranger.
Howard, you sure are bringing back memories. I remember sitting in front of our floor model radio as I was growing up listening to the Lone Ranger. It was my favorite program. It was about three feet tall with a wood cabinet. Obviously just an AM radio with vacuum tubes. I remember the family sitting around listening to it and eating popcorn.
I dislike dealers that keep things listed on their site as "in stock", but it's really NOT in stock! If they don;t have "real time inventory" then they need to keep their site cleaned up!
I have a couple of CASE CLASSIC cheetahs in ivory for sale. Probaly need to sit on the ivory stockman , but would trade for Case Classic sunfish in stag or pearl. I have to ask what does a pre-ban ivory item ban accomplish?
Rick the pre-ban ivory ban makes a selected group of the President's friends happy. It is feel good legislation which has already proven a colossal failure in the reduction of poaching.
Rick if the new law goes into effect, even the pre ban pieces will be on the no no list. The folks that paid for the pre ban certificates will be SOL if they cannot date the material as imported over 100 years ago
Well guys there are other knives around that are banned if you know what I mean. See if you can list a switchblade on ebay. But call it an auto and it will sell.
