    New exotic coming out -

    Exotic Lion's Paw

"W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company announces our latest Exotic release – Lion’s Paw.   The Orange Lion’s Paw Scallop sea shell comes from the Gulf side of the Baja Peninsula, where it is found at a depth of around 100 feet.  The exterior of the shell resembles the knobby knuckles of a lion’s paw.  Stunning shades of orange, white and purple accented with Jet, Nickel Silver and Genuine Mother-of-Pearl."

    I should have mentioned that there are six patterns in the Lion's Paw;

    Peanut

    Sway Back Gent

    Mini Trapper

    Desk Knife

    Small Texas Toothpick

    Medium Stockman

Just got back from vacation last night.  Picked up this 125th Trapper at the Case Visitors Center.  They told me that this Trapper in natural bone will be sold only at the Visitors Center, and is a limited production (40), but isn't numbered.  That seems too low a run, but that's what they said.  I picked it up in case there are some Trapper collectors who might like to have it (full size - 54 pattern).

  • Ken Spielvogel

    Very nice looking Trapper Howard

  • Howard P Reynolds

Thanks, Ken.  I'll be selling it for what I paid for it ($71.95 + $4.32 PA tax = $76.27 + shipping, since I don't collect Trappers.  I don't belong to the Trapper forum so someone who does can re-post this Trapper there.  If more than, possibly, Craig is interested in it, I'll put names in a hat.

I want one Steve, great looking knife.

Great, Jan.  I'll look for your name tag on the lanyard with new Case pins.

LOL, Donnie is so excited about the new pins

  • Clint Thompson

Sadly.....fighting crime, suppressing evil and creating hate and discontent will keep me from joining the group in all this fun. :-(  When we retire, totally, then I will attend and join in the merriment.

  • Tom Peterson

    Clint,

    You must have kids too!

Saw this on FB and had to share the info.  Posted by John Wilson

These were called Case Caliber knives and were made by United Cutlery in the USA before they files for Bankruptcy in late 2006.  Item# 5622 was a polished stainless steel handle  Item# 5623 was a aluminum handle satin finish handle.
Item# 5624 was a aluminum handle with rubber insert handle.

This was truly one of the best Case events I have ever attended.  Case went all out, made everyone comfortable and welcome.  A highlight for me was the ability to sit down with Fred Feightner and have a conversation.  Thanks for taking the time Fred

Just got home. Real long day but I really enjoyed it. Jan I'm really sorry but I got so busy I forgot to take any pictures. I did see Max taking some though. Tony Bose was jumping all over the place but he did take time out to sign a couple of boxes for me. I'll try to post some pic's of my finds tomorrow. For now though I'll just say mammoth Ivory and abalone

  • Lee Smith

When I first started collecting I thought I would only collect yellow knives. That went out the window along time ago. But I still pick up a couple from time to time.
