Good to hear. Maybe A.G. will pop in and see your report.

  • Alexander Noot

Well I just got word from my wife that there's a package with my name on it at the post office waiting to have import duties paid on it. I'm excited because I think it's going to be my Cowry-X one hand knife done by A.G. Russell!

  • Alexander Noot

Well it's here. The blade is gorgeous and I love the one piece construction of it.

What I don't love however is the large amount of both vertical and horizontal bladeplay. Not sure what to think about that.

  • Alexander Noot

Fixed the side to side play by ever so slightly tightening the pivot.

The tiny bit of up and down play I can live with.

Now....will this be a user or a collector....I kind of want it to be a user.

  • Les Swalm

Definitely would make a great user I love mine.

  • Les Swalm

Also the Cowry-X is way shape so watch those fingers mine have pently of scares from not being carefull.  Just got bit the other day by a new Cold Stell the lock was way tight when new working great now but it gave me a little bite.

  • Les Swalm

Also has everyone seen the new boot knives from AG he came out with three types of the same model from China interesting knives has anyone got one yet?

  • Alexander Noot

Nope, I always wait ordering from A.G. untill someone I know is travelling from the states. Those boot knives kind of make me want to buy some boots......

  • Les Swalm

Arkansas is a good place to buy boots

  • Alexander Noot

HAH! I'll remember that next time I'm there (maybe next year or so!)

  • Alexander Noot

Well I'm excited! The company just posted the 2013 Texas Ranger on Facebook, this is the prototype:

  • Les Swalm

Looks great definitely on my buy list.

  • Jan Carter

Great Design.  I like the swedge on that one

  • Alexander Noot

Well....it's on sale this week lol!

  • Alexander Noot

Added some pictures of this one as a discussion:

    What do you guys think?

  • Alexander Noot

Well I finally got my missing Texas Ranger. The 2008 version. I'll take (and post) pictures sometime later.

  • Alexander Noot

Took a couple of pictures of the whole group. Thought those might need a spot in here as well.

Alex, I spent the Easter Holidays with my Grand Daughters in Arkansaw. We didn't make it far enough north to get to Mr. AG.'s place but I wish we had. We spent a few days at Lake Catherine, just south of Hot Springs. We had a great time, the mountains and lakes are so nice. I did find a Knife shop in Hot Springs and bought a couple of knives. Hey, I love your collection there, Texas Rangers. If they were just Louisiana blades, instead.LOL

  • Alexander Noot

Hahaha, I know how you feel. I just really liked the series.

Mr. AG. really has designed a fine line of knives, to see them altogether really shows them off.

  • Alexander Noot

It's only a little perseverance so far ;-). The series was only started 5 years ago. And I bought my first one in it 3 years ago.

So I've only bee trying to get them complete for the past 3 years. But still, I'm happy that I got them so far. Still, can't wait for this years version.

That means we have a mystery on our hands

  • Alexander Noot

Thanks Jan. They are very nice indeed.

  • Alexander Noot

I finally got my Titanium Framelock Spearpoint yesterday!

And seriously....the fit, finish and materials are such that I'm surprised that A.G. can sell them for this pricepoint! Really! I've seen knives at 3x the price that this one is that weren't done as well.

  • Jan Carter

Thank you to Ms. Goldie and to Phil.  I had a great time at your booth today and learned a good deal about the newest Frame Lock.  Check it out in the Blade Show 2013 discussion

  • Alexander Noot

That Skorpion looks quite nice. Somehow I really enjoy seeing the components like that. Makes me like it more than the pictures of completed knives I've seen.

And yeah, both A.G. and Goldie are great people. I'll believe you really enjoyed spending time with them with ease.

  • KnifeMaker

    Ryan Daniels

Queen Cutlery Co. will one of the manufactures displaying at the show. Ashley Wright will taking lead being the Queen Show is the same weekend. She is actually very pumped going out on her own well she will be accompanied by her husband RJ. I think he is pretty excited himself this will be his first knife show! That just seems so impossible to myself. Please stop by everyone who is coming and handle our entire line in person.
  • Gerald Hines

Tell RJ to take lots of Money, There will be a lot of beautifyl knives there.

  • Alexander Noot

Yup, and LOT's of friendly faces. Be sure to check out....well.....everyone really. Soo many cool makers and REALLY cool people.

I'd name some names....but I think most everyone there is worth a visit.

    Robert Burris

Alex, how much postage is it to get the catalog to you? Probably high.

  • Alexander Noot

I don't know. Really I don't. Should only be a couple of dollars perhaps. Depends on what they weigh really.

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

I wonder if Mr. AG. could down load it on your Email address? It might be to much to ask, I don't know. I've never down loaded any thing. lol

    Robert,

Shipping tells me that it cost us $2.90 to send the regular 36 page knife catalog to Holland and $4.60 for the 56 page Christmas catalog.
