The new release page on greateasterncutlery.net is showing a new 3" sleeveboard with a wharncliffe main blade and a carpenter scribe small blade! I was just thinking how I liked patterns that were a little different (some might say oddball) and this one will be hard to resist.

A new Blade configuration from GEC on the Congress (pic shamelessly "borrowed" from my buddy at Greg - TSAknives.com).

For those that like a Spear this might be the one you were waiting on.

My latest proud arrival, many thanks to CollectorKnives.net . A little cutie for sure.

Had a chance to see Ryan and Ken Daniels at the NKCA Show in Dalton, along with Ken Mundhenk (and the infamous Roger Cunningham). The Daniels are excited about GEC and said their knives are selling in total the minute they are made. This company is on a roll and produces high quality knives.
  • Ken Mundhenk

Last weekend Roger Cunningham and myself attended the NKCA Show in Dalton,GA. We had the pleasure of meeting Gary Kennedy and Jan Carter iKC members also we got to see Ken,Ryan and Courtney Daniels from Great Eastern Cutlery. Had dinner with the one and only Scott King and Mark Zalesky, Editor of Knife World. Mark wanted to eat at the famous oyster bar in Dalton but he had to settle for the "Depot" which was great. We had a great time, seen alot of knives and meet alot of great folks. I'm posting a pic of Gary Kennedy hard at work peddling his knives. (nice looking ones at that)

  • Gary Kennedy

Ken It was a pleasure to meet you and Roger at the Dalton Show . That's what makes a show so good you get to meet people and see knives at one place I know the internet is a place to see knives and meet other collectors but there is still nothing to equal to good knife show . PS. the Depot was a good choose

GEC AND TSA KNIFES MAKE IT HAPPEN......

GEC is DONATING the Dogleg Prototype For the "Wounded Warrior Project" Auction Knife!!!

I'm incredibly pleased to announce that the Wounded Warrior Project auction knife is going to be the Dogleg Prototype.

About a week ago I talked to Chris at Great Eastern and told her I was going to have another auction for the Wounded Warrior Project. I wasn't asking for a 'freebie', but only suggestions for a nice auction knife. After a little discussion, Chris suggested she talk to Ken and see if it'd be possible to get a prototype to auction off. When she called back and said it was a 'go', I was thrilled. When I found out that Great Eastern was DONATING the Dogleg Prototype, I was pleased beyond words. I would have been happy just to have had the opportunity to buy it and put it up for auction but this is really a generous gesture.

The details aren't complete yet, but at this point it appears the Prototype will most likely be an acrylic, color to be determined. The Proto will be the only knife produced with the Prototype etch and the first one off the line. A fantastic collectible that a most of us never get a shot at and the money raised will be going for a great cause.

For now, stay tuned for more details. Once I'm sure what the handle material will be, I'll post the info. Also, I'll try to get photos as soon as the knife is made. Pass the word to your friends and fellow collectors. Chat it up on the boards and make sure everyone knows what kind of folks are operating and working at GEC!!! There will be a few more items included with the knife and I'm looking at opening the bidding around Mid-April and running into May.

100% of the proceeds are donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Visit their website at: www.woundedwarriorproject.org

Thanks Chris, Ken, Bill and everyone else at Great Eastern Cutlery. You're truly a class act!!!

Jan/Ken .. it'd be great if a link to GEC's hm pg  were in the opening Group Discussion "Information" section. I know I have it under favorites .. somewhere. Or I could certainly google it again. Just came here quick thinking I'd find it .. & didn't .. just a thought.

  • Jan Carter

Dale let me get with Ken/Scott and see if there is a way to embed it here.  Great Idea
  • Jan Carter

    Dale,

Scott added the link right under the Video.  Thanks for the suggestion

    Cool .. Supercool !!!

It just seemed like a right nice place to have a link direct to their (GEC's) homepage.

I really knew very little about GEC before iKC. I still don't own one .. but .. that will be rectified soon. Hopefully, the link & where it's @ will turn a few more member's on to GEC.

  • Jan Carter

What will be your first purchase?  Do you have a favorite pattern or handle type?

  • In Memoriam

    D ale

Oh yeah .. but don't think GEC's makin' one @ the moment.

I'm rather fond of modified mini-copperlocks .. small unique quality locking folders in the more general sense.

My current EDC is a Queen's  06L Teardrop in honey amber bone. I'm rather fond of their buttonlock version of the 41L  too.

    I've been looking more & more @ GEC's product & there's certainly a purchase in my future !!!

  • Jan Carter

Fond of the teardrops myself!!  Take a look at the 72 mini lockback, nice knife
