Well I am pleased to report that the book project is nearly completed.
"Greast Eastern Cutlery An American Tradition The History of the Northfield and Tidoute Brands"
is off to the publishers and hopefully will be available by the July GEC open house. Get your request in to GEC and come to the open house. If you like history and how GEC came to be, then this book is for you. Photos from collectors right here on this forum made it in the book as well. Keep a watch out. This is going to be great fun.
David,
We are all exicted. I know it was alot of work. We look forward to the book. Will you be at the opne house? Would love to meet you there

Just a reminder that I will be at GEC on Thursday from 9 until around noon for JUST RELEASED signed copies of new book "Great Eastern Cutlery, An American Tradition, The History of the Northfield and Tidioute Brands" At this time you can't get one anywhere else. I would love to meet each and everyone of you. I will also be bringing a selection of my vintage Tidioute and Northfield cutlery items for display. All from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Can't wait to see you all, so come a day early and be the first to get this highly anticipated addition to the GEC history.
It sure is! I've been waiting to hear what a great time everybody had at the Rendevous! I know I was totally impressed by the factory tour. I also had a great time meeting ands talking to all the folks at GEC,Ken,Bill,Chris and Pat and everybody. And also meeting the other Collectors, especially the Carter Family. I hope you enjoyed your trip back thru the Shenandoah Valley Jan!

OK Max, I guess it is not you. Our newest members are Chuck Harnage and Rob Hupp. They both appear to be new to IKC and our little group here. Let's make sure we give them a great welcome to the community
Chris told me,the new fixed blades, including the Bird and Trout, won't be ready to ship until probably sometime in November. They are also going to be VERY LIMITED production.VERY!

Jan/Ken .. it'd be great if a link to GEC's hm pg were in the opening Group Discussion "Information" section. I know I have it under favorites .. somewhere. Or I could certainly google it again. Just came here quick thinking I'd find it .. & didn't .. just a thought.
It just seemed like a right nice place to have a link direct to their (GEC's) homepage.
I really knew very little about GEC before iKC. I still don't own one .. but .. that will be rectified soon. Hopefully, the link & where it's @ will turn a few more member's on to GEC.
If you have not read this entry in the blog by Scott King, you should. It will make every collector laugh and feel the pains of what we thought our collections would be and what they really are.
Are you going to list them for sale in the Sale or Trades? I was going to start a discussion for everyone to put their notice that they have GEC's in that blog for sale, but think it would be more effective for those folks to put their notice right here on the comment wall. What do you think?
Jan - speaking of older GEC's. I'm looking for a 735208 in Burnt Grizzly. I remember more than a year ago Doug Scearce told me that there were only 5 pcs serialized and 7 nos in 2008. I know it's a long shot but I doubt there is anywhere else on the web that I would any more luck than here.

Based on your earlier work you've set the bar rather high for yourself.
I'm looking forward to seeing the book!

Oh yeah .. but don't think GEC's makin' one @ the moment.
I'm rather fond of modified mini-copperlocks .. small unique quality locking folders in the more general sense.
My current EDC is a Queen's 06L Teardrop in honey amber bone. I'm rather fond of their buttonlock version of the 41L too.
I've been looking more & more @ GEC's product & there's certainly a purchase in my future !!!
