Thanks everyone for joining this new group. Todd has asked me to help him moderate. Please bear with me as I am learning also. If you need anything please ask and I am sure we can come up with the answer.

Hey everyone. I am working on a knife right now and have a problem. I used a piece of dymond wood as a spacer, but the wood burns to easy on the belt sander. Should I hand sand or is there another way.
Need Spacer material, wafers or fiber board anyone have a good supply line on this stuff please provide name and number so I can order some!!
Thank you!
The material we have is old and color fading. We ordered this stuff over 25 years ago-per Dad from a place called Indian Ridge-I think it was in Tenn.
Does anyone know of it or remember it? It out of business from what we can tell.
Just uploaded some photo of work I am doing-take a look at my page! I am not getting how to invite folks into my page-the help page is not helping? Can someone explain this part to me.
Hi Paul, am a new member and make Khukuri Blades for a living. Your blades are fantastic, beautifully crafted. Specially with the black blade. How is it actually done? If its your trade mark, will understand not sharing.
["Hello, I am a new knife maker and would like anybodys opnion on the best belt grinder to use for an all around machine. Thanks Vic"]
Hi Vic, there's a father and son team in South Africa that make some realy nice machines. Check out their site: www.herbst.co.za. Good luck, Stefan Diedericks
It's forged 52100 which is a little tough to work with but I like it. It has a grind that Ed Fowler calls the "Improved Michael Price" grind, I have since etched it with my name and mark. It's my #10 and thanks go out to Ed Fowler who I learned most of my forging and heat treating techniques from.
Just finished this one. J. R. Reeves Fighter, forged 5160 steel, 416 stainless guard, stainless and silicon bronze ferrule, Desert Ironwood handle with mosiac pins. 8 inch blade
