Favorite Kind of Knives
Whittlers, especially CASE "Seahorse",
and the Great Eastern "Gippetto" Whittlers.
I also like other utilitarian frames and whatever appeals to me at the time.
Hey JJ, Thanks for the invite !!! I'll b keepin n touch !!! If you know anyone that has a Spyderco Tim Wegner, model no. C48GP, I would like to trade a Benchmade AFCK 800S. I am lookin for a user !!! Thanks
JJ, Thanks and I'm glad to come aboard. Saw an ad in blade Magazine for iKC and thought I'd give it a shot. Hey, I bought a Case MOP Seahorse Whittler a few years ago in Nashville. Then I heard Case quit making them. One question, how do you carve a peach pit? Or is that a local joke?
Hi J.J.,
Thank you for the welcome!!!!!!!!! I sure like the idea of sitting on the
front porch (I can't carve, I would cut all my fingers off and I can't
smoke, I don't want to stunt my growth) and watching the world go by.

OK, JJ> you in charge. We're headed to the airport and then on to Colorado. I think things are settling down now but should continue in a steady growth pace.
Thanks for your Christmas wish. I'll be checking in along the way and at nite as I can.
Thanks.....and you have my cell if you need me :)
Thanks for the welcome, J.J. Your photos are great, funny and refreshing. I haven't whittled anything since I was a kid, but you've given me a good hobby to look into. Thanks again, and hope you're enjoying the Christmas season.
Hey J.J. thanks for the e-mail I think this is a great site and I hope to meet a lot of people and learn some things about knives. I'm a collector but by no means an expert. I just know the knives I like and those are the ones I go for. I think right now I have about 30 Kershaws a bunch of Westerns some Case my collection covers a lot of makers. Bye for now THOR.
Thanks for the welcome. Your profile lists you as a member of a knife club. Which one? I do the newsletter for the Palmetto Cutlery Club in Greer. I joined this site to hopefully learn more about knife collecting/collectors and get news from other clubs for our newsletter. You may be interested in joining our club too. Membership is $10 a year. Visit our website to learn more about us. http://palmettocutleryclub.org/
Thanks for welcoming me io IKC. Your photos of your collection are excellent. What kind of software did you use to make the slideshow with the information attached to each photo. This is a great tool for knife collectors to inventory their collections for insurance purposes! Your peach pit carvings are amazing, expecialy considering how hard those pits are. Knice to hear from you.
Hi J.J.,
I'd love to be sittin' on the porch along with you just watchin' the world and birds go by. Thanks for the welcome. Everyone's been great. Joining was one of the best things i've done lately. Phil
Hi J.J.
Regarding paracord... Yes, I like the monkey fist quite a lot as well. They are useful and fun. One of my friends bought a boat last year. I recently presented him with a monkey fist for throwing line to dock. A lot of people don't realise that is what they are originally for.
I have been making a lot of them lately. Some people put nothing inside them. I always put something inside. For light duty, a wooden or plastic ball. For more heft, a ball bearing. Sometimes I make bigger ones with rope instead of para cord and a golf ball or a tennis ball core. Once I made one for a guy that wanted a large heavy one. So I put a slit in a tennis ball and filled it with BB's. That was a really HEAVY-DUTY monkey fist!
