Favorite Kind of Knives
Whittlers, especially CASE "Seahorse",
and the Great Eastern "Gippetto" Whittlers.
I also like other utilitarian frames and whatever appeals to me at the time.
I've also gotten a couple of these for eval .. Frost's "Cooperlock" .. his copy of Case's Mini Copperlock ..
I added the thumbstud & further radiused the "copperhead" end.
BUT .. had to introduce valve lapping compound into the slipjoint action to obtain smoooth opening action. Note: it was a bear get it all removed - the lapping compound !!!
I'll probably do the other one up for left handed operation (little brother) & just pulled it out .. still in the box .. action's "break a nail" stiff ..
Also .. lateral force required to snap blade .. probably ~ not much ......... in all fairness .. one would have to be pretty "abusively foolish" to snap a blade .. but, I doubt it'll bend ..
JJ .. thought you might appreciate this .. found it when Case was having a search for any poetry including their name .. what I found isn't brand specific .. kinda cute though ?!?!
"I'm worried that I'll get a Buck 110 and make a BIG WHARNIE out of it."
And the problem is .......... ???????????????
Did this one for my Dad in '75/76 .. avid sportsman .. used an old .300 Savage for deer hunting as long as I can remember.. didn't put a scope on it till he started missing .. (I didn't wait that long) .. spent the money on us kids alot more than he did his his hunting/fishing equip .. I was 18 & in the military by '75 .. money to burn .. bought this for Dad for Christmas .. that's 20~30 yrs of serious use ya see there !!!!!!!!!!
JJ .. what's just some fun joshin' between the two of us here could be used as a serious tool for the beginning maker .. for that matter .. any of us doing our own "improvements" !!
.. using the FastStone software .. I managed what I posted with just the one program .. it has it's limitations .. requires a little creative implementation of it's functions .. fun, easy, & useful once you get comfortable w/ it ..
I could burn a copy to cd/dvd if downoad's a problem ..
thanks J.J. i must be doing something wrong though, noone seems to be bidding on it like i thought they would. for instance, my Mom is the winning bid right now!! maybe when its closer to the end we will see more interest on it. thanks for your kind words!
J.J. i offer a sheath for an additional $12 on the bowie knife. it keeps cost down, cause not everyone wants a sheath, and i can customize the sheath by making it a left or right hand design. also, i can up sale to a better more ezpensive type of sheath if they want. was this not stated well on the ebay listing?
thanks for your comment,
CJS

Yeah .. isn't hard to pick up on my personal little preferences .. I'm beginning to see a pattern evolve ..
Posted a not so pretty modification of a flea mkt auto .. also .. documented getting carried away w/ a Case mini-Culock ..
Functional vs cosmetic .. you're probably right .. mostly functional
Well .. got it started .. let's see if anybody finds it now .. has an active interest .. and posts some of their own schtuff ..
Thanks again,
Dale.

The zip file is 4.53 MB, the download took 29 sec ..
The .exe file is 4.54 MB, the download took 29/30 sec ..
slight minute advantage w/ the zip file .. gotta unzip it though before ya do the install .. otherwise just do the straight executable file ..
Baseline: We have high speed via the tel Co.

I've also a set of needle files w/ handles on them .. the oriental injection molded type .. not the undervalued native american antler tips .. hehe
I really do need to use both styles before declaring any final decision .. it does feel promising though !!!
'twould probably excel @ some tasks .. fall down on others ..
