Dear Ken, I think the quote definitely fits your product. I carry one of your stockmans as an every day carry knife. It's one of the best knives I've ever owned. Keep up the good work.
    Best regards, Lloyd

Thank you Ken, I have a few of these best little awsome knives, LOL 18 of them last count, Nearly all of the 2006's think I missed the door prize, and the #73 stag, but have 2 of the 2006 #23 stags, and a whole bunch more, Just got in #2 basket weave Yellow,
And my favorite is a test run #23 American Elk, not counting my ram horn's end capped and not end capped same number . Just Love these Knives

Thanks for the nice words Ken. I love Great Easterns, they are definitely one of the best made knives out there.
  • Doug Scearce

    Ken
Went on your knife site and saw some of the best made knives in
the market today by far!!!! A man can't go wrong collecting Great
Eastern cutlery in my book! It's the best factory made hands down!

Ken, which pattern do you feel will be more valuable down the road?
I plan on leaving my collection to my daughter who is just 13yrs. old
now, but when she gets around my age 52. I've gotten one in an Ivory Casin Scout 1/85 made. I've been looking at those big Toes LOL. I don't buy nothing but Stag, Abalone,Pearl's & Bone in a few colors. I love Low Runs on my knifes,I could be wrong with that out look.
  • Doug Scearce

I've had the chance to go that far North. But I fish for all
of them.LOL I fished Bass clubs for 25 yrs. But I built tires
for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. 29yrs. Until I had a hip injury
In 2001 an retired at 48. But I also made replacement skirts for spinners for 12 yrs. while working , But now I've got a 28 ft.
pontoon boat with under water cameras , so the crappies ,white perch, big blue cats,an flat heads cats an strippers , I love to fish off the coast for tuna , snappers , Groupers an even trout in streams
I've got it as bad as knife collecting LOL

....a video on the whittler...yeah, Here's what I thought- when you and Roger go see him...since he's what like 40 miles away...take your vid camera. I'll edit it if you send it to me and then put it up. :)
  • Roché

Thanks Ken for the welcome. I am actually quite new to GEC. I was born near and grew up around Titusville before being "exiled" to the south. This nostalgia and product quality make these knives very interesting to me. I look forward to using and collecting these knives for years to come.
  • Robert Spring

Hello Ken, Sorry for the late reply...been a busy weekend. I started collecting GEC's about year ago mainly the 73 and 23 patterns, but added the 53 and 54's to the list also! With so many handle options I decided to concentrate on stag's...which is hard enough to keep up with. GEC may be the new kid on the block, but their quality rivials that of knife company's 75 years ago...a wake up call for those still in business today. I heard they have a congress pattern comming out...this should be interesting. It's nice to find a group of folk's that collect GEC's, I think I've found a home!
  • Doug Scearce

Nice fish Ken now that's what I would like to fish for! Something pulling on your line that look's like a Gator! LOL!
  • Lloyd Shoemaker

    Ken,
I'm interested in a 53 pattern red stag stockman. I live pretty close to you and was wondering if you had one? Thanks! Lloyd
  • KERRY WRIGHT

Thank you! I love GEC'S. I am looking for one now. Everyone I have I put up in my collection but I want one for my pocket! LOL

    Ken,

I have found for the most part knife folks are just good folks... That's great corprote promotion and good will to make it a part of their gross marketing budgets.... But keep it in the same sprit that the GEC guys did with Michael. Make it spontanious and the'll hook a client for life.

Good the hear back from you thanks!

    Frank

Thank you for the nice welcome Ken. Much appreciated and good to be here. I found out about www.iknifecollector.com from Vince Roberts through his comparison of the Remington R-1123 Bullet to the GEC #23. I'm going to enjoy being here.

I want to thank you again for the fine Northfield 235109ECL in Burnt Stag I recently received from Blue Creek Cutlery. Have it in my pocket right now!!

    Regards,

    Dave
  • Patrick Pemberton

Well that is a huge relief. I am glad to know that there is at least one other knifenut in the area. Most all of my friends and family think I am a little weird, because I really enjoy collecting and using knives. I just recently purchased my first GEC and I am already hooked. I got a model 25 Barlow with rosewood scales and a Clip point blade. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the out of the tube sharpness. I am still a huge fan of spyderco, so I guess I am just used to my knives coming from the factory with a razor's edge.
  • Bob Andrews

This is my second time. The last time I got insulted and beat up by Mike Latham, and I signed out.

Hello Ken, Thank you for the welcome to the group. I have several Great Eastern knives and I am really pleased with their quality and looks. I enjoyed checking out your knives in the photo gallery. And those are some fine looking Northern Pike you and yours have landed. Makes me itchy to pick up the rod and go. All the best
  • John Hall

Thanks Ken, I plan on buying a Tidioute, UN-XL-LD and some Ka-Bar knives next weekend in Knoxville. I will post the pics when i get back home. I grew up south of Titusville Pa and have a great intrest in old East Coast knives, dont know much yet but learning every day.

    Ken,
I did see we are at 79. YAHOO!!! I am still hoping for 100 by year end. We have some good people on here. Wish I had more time to keep it going more but have been travel/work a lot lately. Trying to think of the next conversation to start.
  • Arjun Gandhi

Sorry for the late reply. I am from Ontario. Not much of a fisherman myself but know a few who do love it.

    Hey Ken,

Looks like you have a nice collection of GEC 's, NF's and Tidioutes. I like the Primitive Bone and Stag Toenails and the Abalone and Pearl Jack's and the knife picks.  Don't have any GEC's yet just mostly NF's and a few Tidioutes. I need to post some photos on my page.

does any body know the statis of the ikc club knife sunfish #36...
  • Bruce Cain

Thank you for your warm welcome. I am a newbie and for now collect only barlows. For a long while I lurked at other large knife forums and learned the histories of most American manufacturers. I began collecting a few older barlows then bought a few Case knives. Later I bought some Queen made Shatt & Morgan, Robeson, and Cripple Creek barlows. Finally I bought a few GECs. All have natural material scales, all are American made, and none are Damascus nor are any Daddy barlows.    Bruce

Looking for a copy of the article for the Spirit of Steel show naming the Whaler the Best Overall knife 2011-2012.  Are you only having the email issue here on IKC?
  • Roger Russell

    Hi Ken,

I enjoyed meeting & talking with you at Parker's show. That was also the first time I had ever seen GEC's line of knives in person and they are  impressive. Hopefully we will cross paths again someday. Take care.

  • Andrew Forsythe

Thanks, Ken.  I'm looking forward to learning more about GEC knives.  I've already indulged in a few, and they are top notch.

Thanks for the welcome, Ken! So far I only own one GEC ~ A Northfield #25 Barlow with  a Wharncliffe blade. I sure do love it and look to acquire a few more GEC's in the future. They make a quality knife that will be passed on from generation to generation. I am happy to be part of your group!

    Here's my little Wharnie...

    Cheers, my friend!
