Hi Ron...Thanks for the gracious comments on my knives. All of the classics on which you commented, I purchased directly from Jim Parker several years ago.. Most of these are prototypes which may answer why multiple pen blades are used. The handle materials also influenced my purchase decision. As to the photos, yes I do these with a digital camera set for close up.. I use a white background with the knife tilted slightly forward and use a sheet of typing paper to reflect light back on the knife. A few pix posted with colored background, I do with photo software. I create the background then cut & paste the knife on to it.
Just stopped by to thank you for the kind comments you left for me and stayed to watch the picture show. I like Spydercos also, in fact my edc is a Native S30V. Your photos of the orange Paramilitary 2 are excellent, I need to study them a while to figure out what attracts me to them. I think you have a gift of arranging the elements in the photo to enhance the knife without distracting from it. Keep up the good work!
Great bunch of photos. Few people think of things like the direction the grain of the wood the knife is sitting on matching the knife, or the color of the deer hair matching the knife, or the other nice things you did to bring your pictures to life. I also make lanyards ( I think you do too... but not 100% sure) so you inspired me to post some photos.... Have a great day. and thanks for your nice comment. - Alec
No, I didn't make it to either day. I was on my way Saturday when the wife said we are taking our daughters to the Pumpkin patch. On Sunday I was handed a long honey-do list. I think she didn't want me to attend the show at all.
Hi Ron, Thanks for checking out my Puma Waidblatt, and your right the stag is beautiful. I love that old sambar stag found on a lot of the older Puma's. I have a few Older White Hunters and the stag on them is really something.
Ron,you have a fine collection. Just went through your page and you are quiet the page designer. ( your 1st case is my favorite of your collection although the Buck General is a close 2nd ) Happy Holidays my friend, to you and family
Thanks for the welcome Ron. The pic of me is with a spectacle caiman. South American. Up here we have caimans and gators as pets. Well those who know how to take care of and have the space for one! It's part of my job to educate people about all reptiles.
Thanks Ron...that's lovely to hear. I'm mainly making slingshots and slingbows at the moment but knives have always been a love of mine and I want to get back to doing custom carved Opinels
Ron; I am looking for a BOKER........HK10 folding plain edge tanto with ATS34 steel
I know it is discontinued but it was without a doubt one of the best carry knifes I have had in thirty years. someone stole it from my clothing while I was in hospital and I am have a devil of a time locating one. There is still one on the market however it is half serrated blade and I am willing to go the price for what I really desire and since I am new to this group of folks I am wondering if I am in right perimeter in asking such ?
Thanks for the welcome and it is so nice to see others who get excited about a blade. I have collected since I was a kid, but exwives have a way of taking everything away. So I am being more particular these days in my choice of knives and women too. Ha ha. I know that greasy feeling. Anyway nice to virtually meet you
Ron : thanks for the info and I am just now getting back to this as I failed to mark in "favorites" and lost our conversation but I am back and getting the "groove of it" I'll need now to get over and see if any of the folks at boker have any idea of what I am looking for.
Hope all is well and thanks again for info............john
