Ken, thanks for the friend request. You are my knida guy, hunting, fishing, knife collecting and a family man. A strong belief in God. A Military Man. I am glad to have you as a friend.

Ken, thanks for the like on my "Case Triple Crown Set". I never thought I would have a chance to own this set. I had only seen one other set several years ago that belonged to a member of the CKKC knife club. In looking at your pix, looks like you have a good collection and it appears, perhaps some of your family has a liking to knives as well.

  • Jim Thompson

I gladly accept your friendship & by all means I welcome your attendance to our show in August. We are around 120 tables now with about 50 dealers. I am sure we will add a few more before the show date.

Ken, I don't think they make a larger Blackhorn.  I checked SMKW and KnifeCenter.com.  They both only list Mini Blackhorns.  I really like my Mini Blackhorn too.  It is a sweet little knife.

Yes, Lefty had a nice rack anyway.  If his right antler had matched his left, he would have been a wall hanger.  I killed two bucks last season, Lefty and a seven point.  In this picture the small rack inside Lefty's is the seven point.

Hi Ken, you said you were looking for a Dogshead Ka-Bar, well I found this little jewel. It's a "Ka-Bar Dogshead, two blade Barlow with nice stag handle. There's two days left on it on Ebay, the current price is $43.00. The # is 370867302202  Good luck, your buddy, Rob.

Ken, my trick is simple. You must look where people post the wrong name for a brand or type knife. Lets say you are looking for a Case knife. Well the best deals may not be in the Case section. The seller might put it up say "American Knives". Or instead of a "Kissing Crane" the seller might put it under "German Knives". Get me, the bidding will be much less. Let me know if you have more questions.

Ken, yes yours looks just like mine, down to the tang stamp with no date code.

  • Sue OldsWidow

no real knife dealers in shops there, but on thursday friday, sat. mornings they do have a flea market in a pioneer village, field across from  LOWES in wheelersburg. Hillbilly flea market in ashland KY which would be across the bridge 52 east of wheelersburg and east on 23  till you get close to ashland is on left hand side of road(25 miles +/-).

Ken, I saw you ordered the Caliber.  Even though I know exactly what it looks like, I am waiting for you to post pics.

  • Shannon McGraw

Thank you! You're right, I do like it here(:

  • Ron Cooper

Ken, indeed, I do love those pics! Thanks for thinking about me with these photos. I wish I had a scanner because I have a shoebox full of old school paper pics I took of hummingbirds, up close, taken with a macro lens. I would just stand still next to one of my low hanging feeders with my camera in the ready position merely inches from the feeding tube. The birds would seem oblivious to me standing there and would fly right up and stick their beaks into the tube and extract their syrupy sweet reward.

Ya know it just now occurred to me that I don't need a scanner. I could just take some photographs of the photographs. Duh! I'm not too dense, am I! Now that I have solved that problem, next would be to retrieve them from storage. Hmm? Not today. But, thanks -- You've given me a great idea!

I love your photographs! In fact, I would venture to say that I am living vicariously through you and the magic that occurs in your garden! Thank your lovely wife, also, for her green thumb, without which there would be no pogey bait for the butterflies n' birds!

Great Ken, I knew it would be great with stag handles and all. That same night I got a Kissing Crane, whittler, that wasn't listed under Kissing Crane but German knife. I made a great deal, just like you. Enjoy. If I can help let me know. If there is something special you want let me know.

  • Guy Fleetwood

Thanks Ken . Same here. Stay sharp and keep'em loaded.

  • Sue OldsWidow

yes that is the flea market field across from Lowe's in Wheelersburg, DID ya find any knives or was it closed down for the day

Thanks for posting your photos in the iKC Arsenal contest.  Unfortunately the rules are only one entry per person.  Which of the two pics do you want to be your entry?  And if you don't mind, after you choose one, I will delete the other to make it easier on us judges when we judge the contest.

BTW, just curious, who is that holding your crossbow?  Son, grandson?

    Again thanks for your entry.

  • John McDowell

like that lunch,we could talk knives over that.

    Ken,

The Parker show is one of the oldest shows on the circuit.  It is beautiful to see TN in December.  I have not been to the show in a couple of years.  The last I heard the deals were fantastic, based on not so many folks coming to the show.  Lots of dealers there but not so many visitors.  There are many knives represented, many of the older knives show up there

thanks for the likes. the cable damascus was a real job trying to keep the rope detail while going to super polished edge. cable damascus may not be the prettiest-but it makes a unbelievable "cutter"
