- About Me
- I became interested in knives at an early age. I can still remember the first combination knife-axe set that I received on my 10th birthday. I opened the gift and was at awe seeing the gleaming; stainless steel blades snuggled in their tight fitting leather sheath. I was the proud owner of a nice knife set and assumed the responsibility that went along with my being trusted to have such a treasure on my hip. Over the years of being a sportsman and having used my knives in the field, I have learned what it takes to make a serviceable knife.
I made my first knife in 1980. I learned the hard way by having to “re-invent the wheel” as one might say because I had no help. The feeling of personal satisfaction stirred my interest and I have been making knives since. During my early years as a maker I employed the stock removal method utilizing 440C, 154CM, and D2 Steels. Today, I forge 5160, 1084, 52100, L6 and 15N20 steels. I make Hunters, Fighters, Bowies, Camp Knives, Bird and Trout knives. I offer flat or hollow ground blades, custom file work and custom sheaths. I prefer to use natural handle material such as Curly Maple, Exotic Burls, Giraffe Bone, Desert Ironwood, Sambar Stag,Sheep Horn and Ivory etc. I am an active member of the American Bladesmith Society, Arkansas Knife Makers Association , Oklahoma Knife Group Association and the Custom Knife Collectors Association.. - Interests
- I like the outdoors and am a avid hunter and fisherman. I like photography, gardening, nature and Jesus Christ and His word
- Other Hobbies
- Bladesmithing, stamp collecting, artifacts, playing guitar and keyboard and singing southern gospel music
