About Me
I'm a part-time photographer, and work for the postal service full-time. A father of two, husband, and a pocket-knife collector of sorts. I grew-up on a farm, my grandfather and father carried pocket-knives as did I. My fascination with quality of knife came when I began deer hunting. My friends and I learned to discern quality of product, then. Since, I've only owned American made knives and such.
Interests
Photography, pocket-knife collecting, U.S. History, politics, old-cars and trucks...

Timothy, Remington makes a good gun and the .270 is a good cartridge. The .270 was developed by necking down the .30-06 case. Both are fine versatile cartridges. I shoot a .30-06.
My situation is somewhat similar to yours. I grew up on a farm in SE Missouri. Hunting was my favorite pastime. But it was only small game because there just weren't many deer around back then. I can only remember ever seeing one deer on the farm while living there. Then in 1964 we moved to St. Louis and I started college in Nashville.
Then until 2006 I only got to hunt sporadically and no deer hunting. I was able to get into deer in the 2006-2007 season. (Here in Alabama our deer season opens in mid October and runs through January.) I killed my first deer that season and now I have killed a total of 17 Twelve of those were with my '06, three with my muzzleloader, and one with my crossbow. My first deer was with a borrowed 7 mm magnum. At that time I hadn't acquired the '06 yet
I live in town but a friend of mine at church has a farm five miles from my house and he lets me hunt there.
My collection taste has become wide a varied since being a part of ik. Mostly Case, from years past and still buy them; but, have now grown fond of FNR, and Pit Bull.
Need a pit bull group. My smart phone is apparently limited to viewing the entire list of groups.
