About Me
My Husband Donnie and I live in Hiawassee GA. I was Blessed to have found iKC and became the owner in October of 2012. I believe all knife collectors are created equal, no matter what type they collect. iKC brings a different direction to knife collecting in my opinion, you may not personally like something or have an issue with a particular company. But respect is a substantial aspect of what we are about. I have a strong faith and believe everyone is entitled to theirs.
Interests
History, fishing, Diving, knife collecting and about a billion other things LOL. My main interest these days is iKC and bringing the future generations into knife collecting.
Other Hobbies
there are other hobbies? OK, I found one! Watching my husband learn to build knives

    Jan, thanks for the comment on the "DEPEND-ON" scout knife pix I posted. I had never heard of this stamp until I encountered this one on eBay. I added all I could find on the stamp in the picture info. I believe this is not a Mfg. stamp but is a Hardware Store stamp. Should you dig up anymore info I would appreciate you sharing it with me. I have collected 20 plus years & this is my first encounter with this stamp.

    Jan, regarding the large Queen Oil Commemorative Knife, there was a card with it indicating there were 1501 knifes issued in 1984 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the first oil well by Edwin L. Drake on August 27, 1859 at Titusville. They were serialized 0000 thru 1500. The one I have is0154. Since the small one has the same serial # I am assuming they were issued at the same time. I do not have any additional info with it. Both are in their own hard case. Case put out a straight blade set, one large & one smaller that fits into a common sheath and a wall plaque on which to display them. This is what triggered me to purchase the queen knives. This is all the info I have on them.

    Hey Jan,

    Thanks for the kind birthday wishes! They are much appreciated! I hope that you and Donnie are doing well.... Is the Best Fixed Blade shown above a knife that Donnie made? If so that's awesome!!! My health has not been so good the past year or so and I've had to take a break from knife making. I have about 30-40 knives in various stages of completion that I'm trying to finish up and get sent off for heat treat. Most are my own designs using stock removal method, about 10 or so are knife blanks that I did the grinding on and I have two old files that I annealed and then fashioned knife blades from. I don't think that I got the files quite hot enough for long enough because after a good bit of grinding my new files started skating across them. I heated them til the were non-magnetic but I guess not through all the way. Live and learn I guess. In my down time from knife making I have tried to collect handle material. Are you familiar with Dylan Combs and his company Shadetree Composites? He makes some great burlap micarta/composite material. Also there is a guy named Matt Peterson (no relation) that makes acrylic handle material - his company is called Voodoo Resins. I have been trying to accumulate handle material from each of their companies during my down time. If you are familiar with either or both of them forgive me for my ranting! I occasionally stumble on interesting knife making materials and always like to share so forgive my over-enthusiasm! I have not used acrylic handle material much but some of Matt's work is pretty interesting in my opinion. I tried to share both of these guys work with my friends over at the Randall shop but they didn't seem too interested. Old habits die hard I suppose. What are you all up to these days?

I have looked at a lot of knives at shows & every morning on eBay and this is the first of these I have seen.
