A-2 vs D-2?

Whats the diference between A-2 & D-2 steels. I understand that they are both tool steels, and that D-2 does not rust as easy as A-2. Is that true? What else? School me, my people!

I have knives in both steels and find both are good knife steels. A2 will tarnish easier than D2. A2 will sharpen easier than D2 but will hold not hold and edge as long. That D2 takes a good effort to get a good edge, so if you are a novice at sharpening you may have trouble till you learn to sharpen it. I am no expert but I use a knife alot and this is what I have found out about the two steels.
