It's the end of October, 2011...and still a few stubborn leaves cling to tree and bush. A change of seasons is upon us. The forests are alive with color; reds, oranges, dark greens, light greens and yellows give the land a remarkable beauty only visible once a year.

As I walked through the forest, the sun chose to peak out from behind the prevailing clouds. It's warmth provided welcome relief from the surprisingly chilly 46 degree (Fahrenheit) air. For a few brief moments, I found myself suspended between the seasons of Fall and Winter. A blissfully childlike taste of momentary immortality...
