Event Description

Knife Day is the day to appreciate the knives that folk use on a daily basis. This day is a celebration of this marvellous tool that has been with humans since the dawn of time. The evolution of knives has been a remarkable feat – from knives made of bone, stone and flint, to modern creations using titanium, bronze, iron and steel. Nobody can deny the knife is one of man’s most useful tools – for cooking, eating, fishing, hunting, and not to forget the oh so handy Swiss Army knife. To make the most of Knife Day, why not test your knife chopping skills in the kitchen, or buy that knife set you’ve always wanted. Invite family and friends over to compare and swap knives, or get together to clean and sharpen your knives. Then there’s nothing like having a cake and enjoying a slice by the knife. And instead of wishing one another to have a nice day, why not just say: “Have a knife day!”

Not to worry, Walter. Pray that your brother's hospital stay is short and successful.
One thing you can count on, here St iKC, is that every day is a knife dsy.

I wish well for all the Bladesmiths, knifemakers and collectors past, present and future. To be able to own a piece of history be it a Bowie or a Tom Mix pocket knife is a privilege and an honor.

In honor of National Knife Day Im carrying my GEC Yankee Jack and my Fantoni hb-03 along with my victorinox cadet.  I thought that would be a well rounded pocket of knives!  ; - )

It is great to be able to own and carry a knife here in the USA unlike places like Australia where knives are basically not allowed!

Wonderful day! When asked how my day is going I usually answer with, "Well, I woke up today so it will have to do", and that is basically true. I am very glad to be here, anywhere really, and happy to share National Knife Day here on the IKC porch with y'all.

What am I up to? Well, this for one: http://iknifecollector.com/profiles/blogs/25th-annual-big-sur-jade-...

And, later today I am going to completely ignore the cardiologist and scarf some sausage & eggs, (WITH yokes Mr Doctor man!!). I think I'll also have toast, (unhealthy white bread with all it's preservatives of course), with REAL butter to go along with it. I took my trusty Trestle Pines Portage Barlow & cut up some links & will mix 'em up with the eggs and have me a sausage scramble, (cooked in all that sausage grease btw)! After that I'll probably eat some cake by golly!

Happy Knife Day!!
