Awrite knife people... If you were living in the "Olde Days" where there was a good chance you and/ or your loved ones would be attacked by thieves, bandits, rogue ninjas, pirates, pillagers,or the likes, what blades would you carry or keep with you?We are not limited to  knives,so what would YOU choose? No fire arms.

A knife pistol. Single shot with a nice blade as back up.
How old we talking?

In med-evil times I think your stuck with only a blade.

As you move into the flintlock era I would want a large bore rifle, 2 pistols, larger saber, or a bayonet.

Then into the cowboy days: 2 six shooters on the hip, a lever action carbine(Winchester not a Spencer) in something big! Then maybe some kind of bowie blade.

Now days I really want a 9MM Springfield XDM with a Ka-Bar TDI. Then a non-lethal option maybe a Kimber PepperBlaster 2 or ASP Airweight Baton.
For the sake of this being a knife/cutlery discussion, let us leave our choices with all things pointy and sharp.
Small tomahawk.............
Not having any survival or combat training, I guess my choices would be:
(1) A high end spring-assisted knife like a "Kershaw G-10 Offset" or Benchmade "Infidel Double Action OTF Automatic Knife 3300".
(2) A high end fixed blade combat/survival knife such as the Gerber "Silver Trident" or SOG "Trident 2.0, Model S2B."
(3) A stainless steel .44 magnum revolver, either a Ruger Redhawk or Colt Anaconda with a 6 to 8-inch barrel.
(4) A Remington "Model 870 Modular Combat Shotgun (MCS)" or a Benelli "M1014, Joint Service Combat Shotgun"
(5) A small back-up handgun like a Smith & Wesson "Model 642" .38 Spl. revolver or a Taurus "CIA Model 850" .38 Spl. revolver.
In response and since we're talking strictly of knives..I would have a Bowie of some sort or
an Arkansas Toothpick on my person at all times!
I'm confused. Your post says "We are not limited to just knives, so what would YOU choose?" If "we are not limited to just knives", as you said, why are so many members responding as though the discussion is limited to knives? What am I missing here? I'd like to know what members think is the best combination of knives AND guns in a dangerous environment.
This is the Fixed Blade Club sir.All due respect. It is so great to be able to hear a reply from blade person I would not have been able to in past, thanks to all this technology we got now.
You should start a discussion and see...EZ as 1-2-3
Hammer/flat back or spike on it?......
OK, my bad. Thanks for the suggestion.
If we are talking only about medieval times, out choices are restricted dramatically. The blades I would carry would be a Japanese katana (long sword), which would be worn openly, and a French poignard or similar dagger, which would be worn concealed.
