Looking for a Seahorse Whittler Knife.

No,  not to collect,  to use.

Nothing wrong with collecting fine specimens of knives. That have unique features. I understand that.

In fact when I get a very fine firearm, sure, I'll shoot it, on a nice day, padded rest, cleaned meticulous, but, take it hunting, bang it around, put it in a scabbard. Just can't bring myself to do it.

Looking for one, (Seahorse Whittler knife), which I will use. Have not used one before. Want to try one.

Na, don't have any 'peach' pits, but do have Walnut/Butternut shells, and Horse chestnuts, to play with. But most of all, the, "Ball in the Box" thing.

So, anyone have a, used, one, which has no collector value?

It can be used, sharpened, carried, whatever, as long as it is functional and serviceable.

PM me if you got something.

Thanks

Good luck to you Tom! Its a fine pattern maybe someone will have one for you.

Thanks Jan,

I saw that one when 'looking' for one on the web.

Maybe ?  Looks good, Perhaps to good !   LOL

But then of course, it would make the rest like that,

more valuable, because if I purchased that one.

The others of that, 'style', would be NIB.

We'll see what happens on Monday   !

Well Found one:

It was only -24 this morning at 6AM.

Don't listen to the Weather, 'news', when they say 40-60 below.

That is Only Wind Chill, NOT the Temp.

Excellent, glad you found one and that it is not as cold as we are seeing!

Nice Seahorse!

Nice lookin Seahorse, Tom.  It's my favorite pattern.

Let us know how you like using it.

Thank JJ, I will.  So far, it looks like it will work out fine,

Big, thick, blade, for honking out big pieces.

although I am very hesitant to 'modify' it.

I will save that for the inexpensive, 'China' made Buck, (373)  ones, which cost only 16.00.

Basically, the one on the far right, a Very, inexpensive one,

(I think it was .99 at a gas station)  Pakastan made.

Was the reason for the Seahorse, to replace it.

R to L: The .99 cent one, The Wards, (one of my favorites), the China Buck, and the New Seahorse.

My Goal, to get better at Balls in Boxes, And  Pliers.

I remember Frances Johnson, (Ball of Twine fame),

came to Auctions all the time, knew him well,

( Watched the ball grow, as I was growing up)

and he could do a pliers out of wood in about 2 min.

In fact he gave me one,  which had 11 Pliers on one piece,

it was only about 8" long, and the handles had smaller and smaller ones on each side.

Oh, and found those little 'Aliens' under the snow.

Bet you have some in your backyard also !

The only "modifications" I do on a Seahorse, that I use, is to round out the handles somewhat.

Didn't have to do that on this "pocket worn"...
