Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Took this old Remington Scout out to the farm this morning and went thru the woods and sat in a chair I use for a Bow Deer stand. I got the knife out and began to wonder, who used this knife? Where was it used? Was it a Scout? The knife has beautiful bone handles in excellent shape. The knife has good snap, but the main blade has a slight wobble. The blades show great patina and signs of wear. The punch tip is broken. There is no bail.   I think the knife dates to the late 1920's. I love this old knife and am so glad to own it.

I think the only thing I can do with this knife is maybe sharpen the punch point - easy. And put a bail on, which I have never done. Any ideas out there about this?

Oh - "if old knives could talk".

What a great knife and I agree Ken, if only knives could talk!, I have several that I could sit down with some coffee and just go on and on,
A bail would be nice and perhaps you could find an old broken knife that has one. Possibly Create a lanyard and thread it through. I place my old ones in inexpensive pooches and it's off to new adventures we go!
