Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I know that somewhere here at iKC there was a thread on Advertising Knives.

For the life of me, I can't find it, so I figured I'd start anew.

I got this knife as a freebie with some cigars.  K. Hansotia & Co. manufactures Gurkha cigars.

Comes with a nifty little draw string pouch.

Like I said, it was free, but the company is selling them now.

Wouldn't think of paying "retail" on it and actually think that a price of around $10.00 is more reasonable...

An SOG Flash I, Andrew Sheret Limited and Rheem advertising knife.

When is a stockmann not a stockman? In this advertising knife shown advertising a company right here in St.Louis. It also very handily doubles as a money clip!

Those are nice, Steve and Steve.... I have noticed that there is not as many Companies putting out advertising knives. What do ya'll think?

That's the only one I have, Robert, and I can't say I've seen any others locally. Heck...I'd buy almost anything from someone who's gonna give me free knives! LOL! I guess it's the same as books and print advertising. Just too expensive to make companies want to do it...easier and cheaper to keep things electronic. A shame...

Back when I was a worker, I was in charge of buying a lot of supplies for my crew and the schools we took care of. Well some of the salesman would give me little things for our business. They didn't have to because I had to buy the stuff anyway. Well some of the stuff they gave me was advertising knives. I would share them with my crew. The ones I had left I gave to Ivars, I think.

On another note a little story. One day a salesman was giving out knives with a racial slur on them. He was careful to give them just to the white boys but he didn't realize that one of the white colored boys was a Creole. Well he took the knife and set it on fire with a torch and then we ran him out the shop...We all had a good laugh. Little did he realize that myself and my crew weren't prejudice.

That's a good story Robert. Could be that not many companies do them anymore. I see I have to look and see if I have others
!
