Win This Knife ( A Colt CT 405 Skinner.)

Here’s the deal.  If you would like win the knife pictured, simply post a reply in this thread answering these three questions?

1) What is your favorite knife pattern (patterns)?

2) What brand, if any, makes up the bulk of your collection?

3) What will you do with this knife if you win it?

There are no WRONG answers!  All entrants will be put it in a hat and a winner will be drawn randomly.

The winner will be picked over the 4th of July week-end.  The deadline for entry is 12:00 (12 Noon) GMT on 5 July 2014. Don’t know what time that is?  Play it safe and get it to me before 4 July 2014 ends!

In order to be considered you must reply with answers to the three questions within this discussion.

If you win and live  outside of the United States may have to pay some for postage.  I’m willing to pay up to $10.00 (US) for postage but you would be responsible for anything over that.  (It will only cost me $5.80 to ship in the lower 48 so I think I’m being fair about the shipping.)

The item will be shipped in a small standard flat rate box.

If the knife is illegal for you to own or have shipped to you, please do not enter the contest.

This knife is from my personal collection and has been lightly used but properly cared for. You will get the knife and the sheath. (Sorry, no box!)

Those who have won in the past may recall that I have a tendency to toss other stuff in the flat rate box along with the prize knife!  I like to get my money's worth with the USPS shipping and I take their slogan "If it fits, it ships at one low cost" very seriously.  Thus the winner can expect more than just the one knife shown above!  I just don't know what else will be joining it!

I reviewed this knife on IKC some time back.  You can read the review here:

Favorite patterns:

Fixed - Tactical, skinners then Bowies.

Folders - Tacticals, Stockmans then Whittlers

Brand - (in order of qty) Schrade, Western, Benchmade, Spyderco

If I win it - I will display it in my office at work for a couple of weeks, so I can fondle it everday. Put it on the Edgepro for a super keen edge and admire my work for a couple of more weeks. Then put it in my "Go-Bag", for the coming apocalypse.

My favorite Pattern; Folder is a Moose, in a fixed blade, a semi skinner.

Question # 2; There is really no one brand but I guess I have more Kissing Cranes.

Question # 3; I would give it to a young person this fall that I am teaching them about the Outdoors and Hunting.

1)  My favorite pattern?  I only collect two patterns, fish knives and Case Mini Blackhorns.  I have more fish knives than Blackhorns so fish knives must be my favorite.

2)  I have several more Case knives than any other brand but they are not the majority of my collection.  Of course the Mini Blackhorns are also Case.  In second place would be my Rough Riders.

3)  Since it has already been used, if I win it, it will probably be a user.

l.  I would have to say my favorite pattern is the Mini Trapper

2. I would say Case makes up the biggest # of knives in my collection.

3. I will put it in my fixed blade collection and use it on the farm.

1-Tactical folders and fixed blades

2-Mostly Blackjack and Gil Hibben

3-It would be a great all-around knife for camping

And as I live outside the US, I think your plans for shipping are quite fair. And the draw date is my Birthday!

Style -- Folders--Moose, Elephant Toenails and Sunfish

Fixed -- 'chute, Scandi and working.

Makers -- Randall, Bob Dozier, BK&T, SOG, CRKT, Grohmann's, EK, Enterek, Extrema Ratio, Spartan, Mission, Puma, Boker, Fox, Camillus, Knives of Alaska, Condor, ESEE, Ontario, TOPS, KASI-Kershaw/ZT, Emerson, Ruana.

Take it out into the bush and try it out and depending on its ergonomics to my hand I'll either keep it (unlikely) or give it to my youngest daughter who has been bugging me gfot a new fixed blade for her birthday in Sept.

Charles, I think I've used it about twice.  Probably once was to cut up a sheet of paper to test the edge.  The other time was probably to cut open an envelope for a knife purchase.  It has not spent anytime outdoors. It is as close to "New" as it can be. If it were being sold on eBay it would be listed as  "New Without Box".

Brand - CASE.
Use - Need a good small fixedblade in the truck...

1. Trapper and Stockman

2. Probably Rough Rider and Case,

3.Add it to my other stag handled fixed blades and save it for one of the grandkids to use.

1) What is your favourite knife pattern (patterns)? Tactical, Bowie and then folders

.

2) What brand, if any, makes up the bulk of your collection? Gerber and Rough Rider

3) What will you do with this knife if you win it? Being such a beautiful knife, I would have a frame made with a nice velvet backing and frame it to be hung on the wall at home.

Have no dramas in paying for postage if I happen to be lucky enough to win such a great looking knife.
