Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hello IKC
I am trying to make the switch from "made in China" to "proudly made in the USA" I am consistent on carrying a Smith&Wesson extreme ops knife in one pocket, it is made in China. This is the knife I want to replace with a USA made knife. Any suggestions on a good knife? I want a knife that looks and feels tactical that won't break the bank.

Thanks in advance for your answers:)

Disclaimer : I have nothing against the people of China I would just prefer to buy knives made in America.

Well...in my opinion, you are missing out on a whole bunch of nice knives by sticking with the USA ONLY frame of mind. Seeing as more and more US companies are outsourcing their construction to the cheaper facilities in Asia, you will find your choices growing slimmer and slimmer. Also,, you will be paying more and more for those US made knives as more and more companies also outsource. If your main concern is supporting local business, then buy from US companies, regardless where they make them. Heck...up here, pretty much every knife is foreign made...lol. Even your US knives.

That being said...I would look at the Zero Tolerance knives. They are tanks, made in the US, and some models are quite reasonably priced.

Thanks Steve, very good point.

Bear MGC .. great cutlery .. American made.

.
Queen makes some nice knives. If you shop a bit .. deals can be found !!!

.

Also, I agree w/ Steve. There's some very good quality coming out of China these days.

You'll be limiting yourself by buying only "Made in USA".

.

If your main goal is to support local business .. by all means, DO.

Buy locally.

.

Personally .. my cutlery purchases are based on quality .. not country of origin.

Tristan one thing I have done is buy from Custom Knife Makers, most all based in the US, although one is not . I have great respect for these men and women too, who are artists and craftsman, who if not make a living practicing their craft, at least augment what their day job is.

Just because its custom does not always mean expensive either. I have some great knives made by good knifemakers.

Thank you all for your great answers!!:)
