Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

OK so mine is not really about a knife.  I bought an extremely well known knife makers strop out of a barn.  It hung there for 40 years and was in great condition.  You could even still read where the gentlemans mom gave it to him for christmas in 1947.

Thats pretty neat. I bought an old case stag trapper for $10.00 from a guy in Norman OK selling knives on the side of the streets so he could get into the OU game. Trapper was in very good condition and was made 65-69.
Tyson,

GREAT story. What a deal that was, so do you use it or did you put it up?
I don't use it, I put this one in my son's collection. When he get's older I will turn them over to him.
Great Dad!!!!!! Write down the story for him, it always makes it nice to see those stories told in our parents own words
Anyone else want to tell a story. Come on now I know ya'll are not shy. I am in Montana and need some thing to read please...
I found a Marble's #1 Safety Axe (the early 3-screw version) hanging on my Mother's wall. I kid you not !!!

There's pics on my iKC pg of this one .. http://www.iknifecollector.com/photo/albums/marbles-1-safety-pocket...

My maternal Grandfather had passed & my mother was his only child .. she had the un-enviable task of going through all his belongings & all that required schtuff ..

Well, she found this old hatchet of his .. he'd purchased it on his honeymoon (don't ask .. I don't know) .. anyway, Mom had no clue what it was .. other than unusual .. so she had made a little display & hung it next to one of my Dad's gun racks (he had also passed by this time) ..

So I hadn't been over to the farm in a couple months & needed to visit Mom .. and low & behold .. what do I see but an unused Marble's #1 Safety Axe hanging on the wall .. I'm like ...

MOM !!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS .. WHERE DID YOU GET THIS .. WOWZA MOM .. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS ????????

... a few months ago .. she gave it to me !!!!!

I seriously love my Mother !!!!!!!!

Oh, and it's destined for my daughter :)
The top one was my Grandfather's ...

... the btm one is my camping axe.
I bought a new Case Seahorse in a Pharmacy in NW Arkansas. I have ordered a knife from a Beauty Salon in TN.
DALE,

I have been away for a few days and just saw this. OMG, What a great stpry and one heck of nice AX. Write down everything you and your mom know about the story and make sure it goes with the Ax for your daughter. We so often lose the stories that go with these peices for the future generations
I know about the Beauty salon in TN and I know there are some Pharmacies in GA. Whats the Pharm in Arkansas?
Jan it's in Siloame Springs on hwy 412 on the Okla. border in NW Ar.
Thanks, always looking for new places to look when I am out of town
