Or pick the lower of the TWO REPLIES and it won't quote you . But it's not that often that someone quotes me!
Tried to make a couple of handles for my Spyderco Persistence out of Bass wood. Get them cut out holes made fit perfect
take them back off to stain them and cause the wood is so soft the break! Now don't you want to just cuss. Thought of just poly coating them but the color is so light they come out blonde. You all know what they say bout blondes they will get you in trouble every time.
A woodworking classmate said don't us that Minwax stuff it dries our the wood that why you have cracks; I use vegetable oil
myself and that darkens the wood. The more coats the darker, then poly them suckers. Any ideas ?
Reason I posted this on the Diner is simple they just might become the toothpick dezure next couple days. HELP !!! To make this an acurate post I am about to piss on them; and the pourch is as good of place as any.
Arthur,
I think if you use veggie oil your going to have problems with the poly adhering correctly. My initial though was fiberglass them, you could use colored fiber cloth but that seems like alot of work to me. As much as I hate to say it, I would start over with them.
As for the originals, please don't go pissing on our toothpicks!!
Arthur,
