The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
So I got a new Case Rat from Ebay in the mail today. Good looking knife, nice & clean. Case Roman Numeral Stamp Muskrat Knife 2014 125 Years SFO CXXV Shield MIB. It's all those things. I polish it up with a bit of wax and put it in the Gerstner muskrat drawer, then I look at the back of the box: Produced by Frost Cutlery Company Under Sublicense with W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. WTF? I collect a lot of different brands although I tend to lean heavily toward PA manufactured knives and I don't collect Frost. I know there are lots of knives made under contract and private labeled under other names but I thought all Case knives were CASE KNIVES. I compared it closely to a couple of others and it sure looks to me like it came off the same tooling. Now I'm wondering how may of my other Case knives were not made in Bradford?
David,
To the best of my knowledge these 125th SFO's were made by Case, produced FOR Frost. I believe there was also an SFO produced for SMKW
That makes me feel better! Thanks.
That's a real nice one Andy! I only see one?
Here is a few Rats that you don't hardly see any more
Some really good looking knives here!
Steve,
Although the transition is probably my favorite of these I love the idea of the stag. That set with the tiny little trap is just a fun set to look at!
Those are Super Rats Steve!
Very nice David!
